Cam Thomas is mad he got exposed

Cam Thomas is, apparently, a dumbass with a sensitivity problem towards facts.

The lack of self-awareness some players have is hilarious. And they wonder why they can't get a contract that they feel is suitable

He's a RFA so the Nets will absolutely wait for an offer and match it to avoid an over-pay. If they really believed in him, they would have just offered him what they think he's worth. But they're going to wait, as they should. Problem is that nobody really has cap space other than them. Detroit had some cap space but spent it elsewhere. Also, the current RFA pool is full of dudes who want more than they're worth and nobody can offer that to them right now. So he's kind of in no-mans land at the moment, along with Giddey and Kuminga. Even if teams had money, the fit would be the next question.

He needs to calm down and know how to take criticism. He's a professional athlete, this is gonna happen. Lowe is no idiot, he knows what we know and can all see.

I lol'ed reading him say "f*** you" and "please" in the same sentence.

Except their definition of "hoop" is one-on-one pickup and they think that if they're good at that, it's gravy.

I was out on cam thomas when a reporter told him on live television, that steve nash, arguably the GREATEST playmaker of all time, and one of the offensive goats(also his coach) suggested hey maybe he needs to pass some more, this guy rolled his eyes.

He doesn't get it.

Yep since that moment, my opinion on Cam thomas has been pretty consistent. He's an idiot with zero self awareness and its why he's struggling to get re-signed by the Nets at the moment.

Nothing good can come of this for Thomas. Sometimes doing "nothing" is the hardest thing but that's what he needs to do here.

I have some sympathy for the restricted free agents out there and having these people in the press say negative things about them

When a player scores as impressively as Thomas, I expect to see it reflected in the impact data. Especially on a team like BKN lacking in reliable shot makers. With that said... it's not that his impact numbers are underwhelming- they are BAD. That's a huge red flag to me

Is it very impressive?

This year, he FINALLY managed an important feat: he was close to league-average efficiency. He was only -0.1% relative to league average. He was a 100 TS+ guy for the first time, after posting 92, 98 and 96 TS+ in his first three seasons. He was still a -0.7 TSAdd player. And he only played 25 games, so it may well have evened out over the remainder of the season.

There's nothing about his scoring which merits any kind of special attention. He's a decent 3pt shooter, he's an excellent FT shooter, he's very good at getting to the line, and generally a pretty good/above average mid-range scorer, but he's pretty bad finishing inside and he's atrocious at getting to the rim, which is why his efficiency hasn't been good.

The short version of all that is that he actually isn't very impressive as a scorer at all, but he does have a loud mouth and an insecurity issue.

Bad decision by him to not just focusing on balling first at least before saying this, whether lowe was correct or not is usually not a good look for a player to beef with media critics

The league has caught on. Cam Thomas, Zach Lavine, Jalen Green being dumped. Scoring SGs that don't provide defense just aren't very valuable.

I appreciate that he feels the need to defend himself. This is, after all, his livelihood. It's how he supports himself and his family. But he's not going to win this. His best move is to get in the gym and prove them wrong. Make them eat their own crow, don't feed it to them.

He and MPJ should be an interesting combo to watch.
