Who do you think will be perceived as the better player after the 25-26 NBA season: Luka or Shai?

Shai easily. I think OKC repeats. Lukas best years were in Dallas

Shai already passed Luka to me. Not sure what the argument is to put Luka ahead (assuming you're talking all-time).

A better question is Giannis or Luka

I wouldn't write Luka off this quick in terms of his best years. This is usually the prime of everyones career at his exact age.

My concern is more so as I just posted. Will operating the court with Lebron maximize his talent. And I don't think so

have to go with shai, he's the best player in the league imo. luka isn't far behind though

Luka hasn't been better since 2022. I doubt that changes anytime soon.

Luka 23-24 was not? Yes, I know he was 3rd and Shai 2nd for the MVP. Because of team record, IMO.

And Shai played better than him during their series.
IMO again Doncic was only himself (not limping) for the majority of the WCF vs Wolves.

P.S. SGA is great.

Shai is already better than Luka Doncic. I'm expecting the gap to widen quite significantly for this upcoming season and beyond.

I expect Luka to have his best season yet, lol at his best years being in Dallas, guys already writing off a guy who just turned 26 and for the first time is serious about his conditioning. It is a toss up whose better, SGA has edge cause of the title and MVP, Luka shoud make bigger jump next year IMO, so it is 50 50.

Luka would have to do everything Shai just did in order to get back on Shai’s level

Luka is on a pretty **** team though. While Shai is on a young and improving championship team. It's going to be interesting to watch it unfold..

Luka reached finals with an underwhelming team once, so anythings possible, tho it will be hard to beat OKC if you are any western team. I checked champiknsip odds the orher day, and it was 3,7 for OKC, I think I am going to bet that, cause I expect it to just drop.

He was better. At least his fatigue level was better at the end of the games. Circa 2020-2022 when he had to do everything on his own, sometimes the fuel tank was almost empty in the 4th quarter. 2024 Luka was different.

I have Luka as a tier above, slightly worse as a scorer, tiers above as playmaker, SGA defense is insanely overrated, but it's what have you done for me lately league, and he had the supporting cast to win, but chose to come back out of shape and give Nico the excuse to trade him, until this happens, the reigning MVP and champion is ahead and should be considered better, while Luka needs to build a contender from scratch again.

Shai is the MVP and the best player in the game.

Luka has to show me he can be the best before I just dethrone an All Time player like Shai who just entered his prime.

Only one of them plays for a title contender, so its not really a comparison.

A tier above is crazy considering the advanced metrics like Shai a lot more. I can see people liking Luka better, but a whole tier? That's underselling Shai, who probably posted the best guard season outside of MJ/Curry, or horribly overrating Luka.

People are allowed to have opinions that don't align with advanced stats...
I've long argued roster construction plays bigger part in so called advanced impact stats than players performance themselves.
You either think SGA the best guard season ever, because no one comes close to hiss tats, or that we're dealing with extrapolation outside of stats intended range of modeling.

As long as Luka stays healthy and in shape I think people will consider him ahead of Shai. No reason he shouldn't be with the versatility his skills/size provide.

If Shai can develop a more reliable 3 point shot that might swing it back for me personally. 28% in this postseason was worrying.. felt a bit forced at times so hopefully he can adjust and make this an outlier.
