Mohamed Dabone

Post#1 » by Chokic » Wed Aug 13, 2025 4:38 pm

We just had Victor Wembanyama in 2023 and many proclaimed hes arguably the greatest nba prospect in history and now there's already another mutant waiting in the wings to claim the throne in few years. Mohamed Dabone is only 13 yr and has been dominating the euroleague competition and will play for fc barcelona this season. He won't be eligible until the 2030 nba draft. I honestly think he could play in the nba if he was 15 16 yr old if it were somehow allowed thats how physically athletically gifted he is for his age.

I read about this a few hours ago, but thinking he could play at 15 or 16 is wishful thinking at this point in time.

He looks legit "generational"

A 16 year old LBJ,Wilt,Kareem etc. could all contribute at an NBA level at 15 or 16 had they been given a chance

He's already 6'10, that's an elite NBA level height anf likely growing at a fast pace, idk when he was measured at 6'10 but he's likely even taller now

recently at the tourney in Abu Dhabi, it was easy too see how well he moves and also that he's got a pretty developed frame, one that makes u wonder if he's really 13

P.s.imo he moves and plays more like Giannis than Wemby

I’ve only seen a few highlights but nothing stands out as generational at this point. Is it bc he is tall for his age?

He looks really talented but not Lebron, Wemby, Wilt, KAJ talented

I'm not questioning if he looks generational, we just don't know in 2 years what he will look like, the article I read said he moves like Giannis as well, crazy to be 6'10 at 13, most men Struggle to get to 6ft

I do not know him, but when people say Euroleague, they usually mean that international league called Euroleague. Post is misleading, because it implies he is Luka or somthing at 13 lol, He never played in Euroleague and I doubt he will next season, let alone dominate, he is just Barcelona youth prospect.

Youngest player ever to play in Euroleague wss Avdalas at 15 years old, and by playing, I mean he did appear for a few seconds.

There is no way that's a 13 year old.

I just youtubed him, and this might be the real life version of that Boban scene from Hustle. Also, he does not look all THat great beside the fact he is giant playign youth competitions. I am not saying he is bad, but I mean, Karnowski was most dominant 16 year old in Europe by a huge margin once too, I do not see Wemby potential at all here. Wemby did play in Euroleague when he was 16, and frankly, he was terrible, but you could see tools and flashes that made him amazing. I just do not see the same athleticism at all here. dude is just big.

I thought the youngest was Rubio at 14.

Rubio didn't play in the Euroleague until after the draft. beofe draft, he was playing for Badalona Juventud, which is not an Euroleague team. After the draft, he signed contract with Barcelona and made his Euroleague debut at 19 years old.
He was still Spanish sensation, he dominated U16 and he made Olympic debut for mens team at 17. He was probably the best 15 year old basketball player ever, but he was crazy early bloomer, the earlies bloomer to ever bloom, he basically peaked in his teens.

I think he's closer to 18-20 than 13. But it's based on nothing more than looking at his face/features/body.
I'm gonna leave it to the pro scouts in this regard, but I do worry.

Can't wait for the obligatory jersey swap with Gradey Dick.

The Youngest EuroLeague player since the year 2000:

1. Fedor Zugic - age 15

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_youngest_EuroLeague_players_since_the_2000%E2%80%9301_season

US sports media kept saying that Rubio was playing in the EuroLeague at 14, and Doncic at 13, but that has always been total BS.

Rubio played in the EuroLeague at age 19 to 20. Luka debuted in the EuroLeague at age 16, but he was Real's 14th man. Luka made the team's rotation as a role player at age 18.

But yeah, Dabone has never played in the EuroLeague.

Also, he was already listed at around 16 or 17 years old in previous competitions that took place some time ago.

So it's odd that they are now changing his age to being several years younger than it was listed at before.
