This sucks. Hope Naz and his family can find some peace in the future. I can’t even imagine what this must be like.

R.I.P. Toraya Reid and major condolences to Naz and the whole Reid family. Losing a loved one through senseless murder is the cruelest thing ever.

Prayers to Naz Reid Losing a sibling is tough; nothing ever really prepares you for it. With parents you sort of expect it when you get older, but losing brothers and sisters just hits you differently.

Gavin de Becker (wrote The Gift of Fear) says the most dangerous time for a woman is after she leaves a relationship.
Rest in peace, Toraya. May you get justice.

Hoping the Reid family can find some closure, and that Naz can use the silly sport of the game he loves as a building block and springboard for moving forward in his life.

Guns don’t kill people.
America can’t boil this issue down to one singular root cause - but until the root causeS can be discussed - real solutions won’t be found and implemented which means no real change.
Blaming guns as single source of problem isn’t fair to the real solutions and does everyone a disservice.

Almost 60% of all firearms related deaths are suicides. Then black males follow that up by being the most effected who are also responsible for the homicide.

We are all out of solutions and we have tried nothing.
it's the guns by the way and only this country will put an argument out like "guns dont kill people"........unreal.

This country loves guns more than their children and Jesus.
If Sandy Hook or Uvalde didn’t lead to any change, nothing will.
RIP Toraya. Femicide is a huge issue in this world. We need to treat our women better.

I'm not a big fan of the gun policy in this country, but this particular case wasn't some drive by or out in public. It was yet anther case of domestic violence, something that isn't all that unique to the US in terms of homicide rates.

In Australia, 0.1 gun murders per 100,000 people and 0.75 non-gun murders per 100,000 people.
In USA, 5.4 gun murders per 100,000 people and 0.4 non-gun murders per 100,000 people.
So yeah, it's the guns. The speed and detached nature of using a gun to kill someone is why they are a problem.

100%
Getting rid of guns won’t completely eliminate homicides. But people will be forced to carry out attacks with knives, or experiment with bombs. Very few people are capable of creating an explosive, and mass knife attacks aren't usually very effective and are far more survivable. It’s also far easier overtaking an attacker with a knife as opposed to a firearm.
The weapons available to the public are so dangerous, police departments get overpowered by active shooters and they choose to standby, as we saw in Uvalde.

Might as well do nothing then
