This isn’t a told you so but just a reminder that agents generally know what they’re doing. Lots of people said Giddey was a fool for not taking the $88m or whatever offer and playing chicken with the QO, but this type thing is pretty normal.

Just remember it next time someone talks about the QO and you get the impulse to yell ‘no no, Nerlens Noel!!!’

Probably got incentives in there to bridge the gap between 88 million and 100 million. I know that teams are trying to avoid contracts with incentives because even unlikely ones count toward the aprons but they aren’t going over ever anyway so for the Bulls this is probably seen a positive.

Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls have agreed to a four-year, $100 million deal. Giddey and the Bulls had a prolonged contract negotiations as he was a restricted free agent. Giddey's four-year contract will range from 13.8 percent of the salary cap to 14.5 percent, while his available max was 25 percent of the cap.

The Bulls recently improved their four-year, $80 million offer to Giddey to $88 million over four seasons. It has yet to be reported how much of the contract is guaranteed.

Giddey averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists in his first season with the Bulls. Giddey was acquired by the Bulls in June 2024 from the Oklahoma City Thunder for Alex Caruso.

Giddey, who was the No. 6 pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Thunder, is represented by Daniel Moldovan.

Overall I see it as a fair deal for both sides. Giddey has shown flashes that he can be an All Star level player, but it wasn´t really long and consistant enough to really warrant a higher salary. If it turns out that he just is a guy that gets you 13-15 points and around 6 assists and 6 rebounds per night it´s a slight overpay that doesn´t hurt, if it turns out he is able to constantly put up numbers like he did in his last 25 games then it´s a win for Chicago.

Had to pay him. You paid a scrub like Patrick Williams 5/90. Acting like you can't pay Josh when he actually produces night in, night out, was just wrong.

This is like $4 million more than Derrick Rose got for winning MVP.

This was a no-braoner and the obvious compromise number I've been saying for weeks. Took awhile for Reinsdorf to stomach offering it, apparently.

Giddey overcame a lot of BS and got paid.
