About the same level.
Mark Price is very underrated nowadays.
Nash played in a more guard friendly league and under D'Antoni system which boosted his legacy a lot.

In one thread we got people complaining that "everyone" makes the hall. Now we have a thread asking if a guy not in the hall was better than a 2x MVP...can't make this stuff up.

I'd give Nash the edge as a passer, but Price was a better scorer and better defender. Overall they're pretty even.

Price's main issues were health and playing in an era that probably undervalued his skill set. Nowadays he'd be given free reign to absolutely spam pick and rolls and he'd be pretty unstoppable if he could stay healthy, especially with a coach like D'Antoni.

Nash in the 2005 playoffs vs. Dallas:
game 1 = 11 points, 13 assists, 4-10 shooting
game 2 = 23 points, 13 assists, 9-22 shooting
game 3 = 27 points, 17 assists, 12-21 shooting
game 4 = 48 points, 5 assists, 20-28 shooting
game 5 = 34 points, 12 assists, 13-26 shooting
game 6 = 39 points, 12 assists, 14-24 shooting

There's a barely defensible argument for Price due to defense but on offense it's comfortably Nash.

The guy who won 2 MVPs in an era with Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.

In my opinion he didn't deserved the MVP on 2006.

It's way closer than what you think.
Put Price in today's game under D'Antoni system, he would absolutely thrive.

Maybe a few years ago...Price was 6'0 if you rounded up with shoes on man. A buck 170. He was Trae Young sized to put that in perspective and we all know his struggles on defense just due to his size and lack of strength. In his era it was much more common for there to be guys his size. Today even your Curry's are 6'2 and 200 pounds.

In points per game, it's actually Price, but that's about it.

If Price had a longer run with better health this might be a debate.

This is Nash by a mile (kilometer)

Both would arguably be more valued in the modern game than they were in their time. Both were excellent shooters who would shoot more 3s today than they did back when they played.

Nash led the leagues best or second best offense for 9 years in a row. His teammates across those years regularly talked about how easy he made the game for them. Price did not have that level of impact, although he was underrated and great player.

He may not deserved it. But you cannot win the MVP and not at least be in the discussion.

It’s not 1 or 100. It’s more like 90-95 or 100.

Nash vs Curry is a better and more appropriate debate.

I can buy that Price was better than Dallas Steve Nash, but not Phoenix Steve Nash.

The two most undeserved MVPs of all time is not the flex you think it is.
