And I'm talking about the actual upcoming season, most teams I'm guessing have a starting 5 set and know what they're doing.

Starting 5: Ayton, Bron, Rui, Reaves, Luka ...

a lot of fans think Rui or Reaves should be off the bench, but don't think JJ will do it, so rolling with this lineup.

What is your fav team and starting 5?

Hard to say because Doc is Doc and things could go a few ways regardless.

Kevin Porter jr is the likely PG starter but this could also be Ryan Rollins as a defensive role player or Cole Anthony because nepotism.

SG is again tricky because depending on PG, KPJ could start here instead, if he's the PG then it's either AJ Green or Gary Trent.

SF should probably one of the guards above but Kuzma will likely get first shot at seeing if he remembers how to play. Grim.

PF is Giannis, enough said.

C will be Turner which is super exciting. Bobby portis will back up either big unless Doc goes real crazy and starts him too with Giannis at SF.

At point guard we're awkwardly stuck between the end of one point guard's career and the beginning of another.

Conley started basically all of last year, but he's 38, played only 24mpg, clearly declined, and continued to decline in the playoffs. Conley isn't awful (yet?), but there's only a few things left he can do at an NBA starter level. He's in the last year of his deal and I would guess likely to retire after this year, unless he bounces back miraculously. Will Finch ride him until the wheels fall off?

Dillingham was a top 10 pick. He showed positive signs last year, but only briefly cracked Finch's rotation last year. He should get every chance to win the starting point guard spot in training camp, but if Finch doesn't trust he's ready (especially on defense), who know? We badly need Dilly's lob throwing ability in the starting lineup. He didn't look completely awful on defense last year, but he's small and not at all good on that end.

The other option I hear from fans is a Donte/Ant backcourt where they share playmaking responsibilities. It's possible but I don't like it. Donte is fine as a tertiary playmaker, but put him on ball and he often looks bad. Donte needs to attack with advantage and has no ability to create advantage. So far in his career, Ant tops out at "good enough" as a playmaker. The Wolves also brought Bones Hyland to camp.

I think this thread is great, because it's hard to keep up with all 30 teams. Even more during the season.

It'd be nice to have some sort of thread during the season where fans explain (weekly, f.e.) team dynamics that are often otherwise missed.
