If you're the Lakers, you'd rather have LBJ out there, but this could be good for Luka to put his imprint on the team from the jump.

Could end up benefiting everyone for the long-term from that perspective.

Plus, LeBron will benefit from not having to play so much during the season. So he should look at this as load management, too.

the only thing the lakers are playing for this year is Luka MVP. This should help with that.

The only way to get Luka and MVP would be to trade Lebron's contract and getting something good enough to have a good record. Without a good-to-great record, it's very unlikely to get the MVP
