GIGANTIC Lineups

Post#1 » by Sane » Wed Oct 15, 2025 6:37 am

Please share your team's best double big or super big lineup and why you think it would work.

My Rockets are just humongous this season. We may start a lineup entirely made up of guys with 7ft+ wingspans. Against the Pelicans we started a lineup Udoka is considering for the regular season:

Adams
Sengun
Jabari
Durant
Amen

Four 6'10+ guys, all with 7FT+ wingspan. The front office went all in on going big this season and it's going to be an interesting experiment in how big is too big.

Would love to see your team's big lineups.

Didn't the Spurs play Robinson, Duncan and Joe Klein together in the starting lineup back in the day?

Edit: yes, during the 1997-1998 season when Joe Kleine went under the name Will Perdue.

That's three 7 footers together in one starting line-up

Who was bringing the ball down the court there? Millsap, Jokic?

Two of their three bench players (AC Green, Samaki Walker) were 6'9", with Erick Strickland being 6'3".

Portland could realistically put this line-up on the court this season without it being too bad

C- Clingan 7´2
PF- Hansen 7´1
SF- Grant 6´8
SG - Camara 6´7
PG- Deni 6´8

Clippers have an interesting one because I think they're the only 4-out option. Zubac/Lopez/Batum/Leonard/Harden is massive not only in height but also in functional strength.

We can put together this too:

Sengun 6'11, 7,1
Durant 6'11, 7'4
Jabari (6'10+) 6'11, 7'2
Dorian Finney Smith 6'11, 7'0
Amen 6'7, 6'11.5

Any teams seriously thinking about using it? Lots of team loaded up with bigs this summer (Denver comes to mind).

Height in shoes

Flagg 6'9"
Thompson 6'7"
Washington 6'8"
Davis 6'11"
Lively 7'3"? (supposedly grew 2" this offseason)

410 inches in total

let's be honest, a healthy lineup like that should win a ring. I don't see how you can realistically compete with that...

I don't know about that. Spacing is pretty bad. FT shooting is bad. Adams and Sengun can be iso'd on the perimeter. It's a fun lineup that's very useful in certain situations, but I don't think you can run with it as your primary lineup.

DFS is not 6'11", more like 6'7".

The Cavs starting front court is pretty big.

Allen 6'9" - 7'6" wingspan
Mobley 6'11" - 7'3" wingspan
Hunter 6'8" - 7'2" wingspan
Mitchell 6'3" - 6'10" wingspan
Merrill 6'4" - 6'5" wingspan, he's the spot starter until Garland gets back from his June surgery.

Nuggets have played a little bit of a lineup with Jokic and Valanciunas together in the preseason, so you can expect to see thay in some circumstances. Something like this would be pretty big and hard to defend.

Valanciunas
Jokic
Gordon
Cam Johnson
Bruce Brown

1980's WC All-Star lineup (at some point during the game)

PG: Magic 6'9"
SG: Iceman 6'8"
SF: Sampson 7'4"
PF Tarpley (I think) 6'11"
C: Kareem 7'3"

Outside of Sampson moving out from PF to SF everyone else is in their standard positions.

HAWKS:
So far is preseason, Hawks have run the double big lineup of Kristaps and Onyeka and it has been very effectivr. They've also had a few minutes of Jalen Johnson added to that mix. So possible to see lineups with:

Kristaps - 7'-2" C
Onyeka - 6'-9" PF
Jalen - 6'-9" SF
Zacc - 6'-8" SG
Dyson - 6'-7" PG (he has been running point when Trae sits)
