Is it too early to worry about The Grizzlies?

I know so far they have been short-handed in the pre season but have looked really uncompetitive so far in many of their preseason games so far.

Desmond Bane looks like a bigger loss for The Grizz than many (like myself) assumed.

Now it's way too soon to write them off for the season, but i don't mind The Grizz and thei fans but I fear it could be a very long and painful season for them.

But I have been wrong before, and would be delighted if they prove me wrong..

My gut is telling me to fade them this season. Almost feel like they are going to get destroyed by injuries again. Hope I'm wrong.

Coach Iisalo was able to get his teams to overperform like in crazy in Europe, so that's what the Grizzlies probably need this year. It's time for the coach to prove his worth.

Grizzlies and Kings are western teams I do not have faith in.

They are in the West. All fringe playoff teams should worry since its just far too stacked there.

Ja Morant has been a huge disappointment

They pretty much collapsed the last third of the season. Presumably the offseason would allow them to recover but perhaps it hasn't.

Never too early. The over/under for them is at 39.5. Most "analysts" have them missing the 'offs

No. We're not doing this. This is not a thing and it will not be a thing. You can say the extra syllable. You can make the two 2 extra keystrokes.

It's preseason. With the exception of JJJ for 22 minutes last night, they haven't played Ja, JJJ, Edey, or Clarke. They've also rested KCP and Ty Jerome every other game as well.

If the question "Is it too early?" comes up in preseason, the answer is automatically: yes.

It would be crazy if they had another injury decimated year. This teams never has never made it to the playoffs with a healthy frontcourt and a healthy Ja.

If the health problems for away a couple weeks into the season, I think I'm higher on the Grizz than most. They have a pretty easy pathway to being top 10 on both sides of the ball. People got too low on them after a badly timed late season collapse. The Grizzlies have been a 50-win team when healthy every year.

They still have a lot of players out with injuries.
If they get healthy they should be fine.

If we should be worried about the Grizzlies or not depends on the expectations. It feels like they've become kind of irrelevant.

I mean, sure. It's pre-season. But yes, there are some big question marks. The west is brutal, so a slow start or any injuries can knock you out of the playoffs completely. They dumped a proven winner and are hoping some younger guys can step up. That's always a risk.

They've taken downgrade after downgrade to the roster to the point where I can't see them being a contender. If they play well and aren't injured, I could see them in a late seed or in the play in.

Ja "I'm fine in the west" Morant, and Jaren "guard stuck in a centers body" Jackson jr is a strange core, but can work given they're healthy.

I wasn't going to underestimate the loss of Bane, that's a pretty big loss for that team and being in the West they should already be worried. Orlando made an offer they couldn't refuse, though

Sure, but they’re a significantly different team this year without Bane.

This team also seems to lack toughness aside from Scotty Pippen Jr and Zach Edey. It's a far cry from my beloved Grit-N-Grind era.
