The Sharpe deal had me worried. Sharpe is good, but he's a bit of a Andrew Wiggins type. Loads of talent, but the motor isn't what you'd like to see.

Really, really good deal for Portland.

Its good value for the raw stats he puts up and his age of being just 22 he still has significant upside. That said, he's been fairly underwhelming in most of the games I've seen him play. Not sure he impacts the game as much as you want for a guy to make $20+ million per year. He really needs to become more efficient to take that next step forward. I would be bummed if Detroit gave Ivey the same contract extension.

Brother it’s been like this for many, many years. Look at career earnings of guys like Ronnie Brewer, Thabo Sefolosha, Pat Beverly, Jevon Carter, Andre Roberson etc.

What's wild to me is that we gave Simons a 4 year $100 million contract 4 years ago, and now we are giving Sharpe less than that not even taking to account the cap going up.

The Blazers are paying Deni, Shae and Toumani the cost of Paul George basically the next 4 years. Thats how you play chess when others are playing checkers.

It’s also how we afford paying Jrue and Jerami to hopefully be top tier role players.

We have a very weird roster but I see playoffs in that weird future.

I hope this and the Camara contract serve as a pretty good comp for Bennedict Mathurin and we give him a similar extension. Mathurin thinks he's a star, and I do believe this is going to be his breakout season, as he will be basically our lead offensive guard. He has looked pretty spectacular in preseason.

But long-term I don't think the Pacers can afford him if he's on like 30 mil a year, and I don't know if he's worth that. But if we can get him for 22 mil a year? Great, let's get it done!

Seems kinda low for a player with his upside.
