This scandal proves the lottery was rigged

Post#1 » by meatwad4343 » Fri Oct 24, 2025 3:29 pm

you have this massive scandal coming to light now with dudes getting arrested and mob activity. The league is corrupt all the way up to the top. There's no doubt in my mind now this past years lottery was rigged. Dallas did a favor for the league by getting a young marketable superstar to the leagues favorite franchise to make the lakers relevant again. At the time it seemed like one of the worst trades in NBA history. All the while the Lakers, mavs and the league had a handshake deal to throw flagg to the Mavericks in exchange for making the lakers relevant again. Disagree with me all you want, but the NBA is no longer a legitimate league. It's on par with WWE.

I truly don't think that Chauncey Billups allegedly being a scammer in RICO case proves anything about the nature of NBA.

What it does prove alongside Aspiration Gate is that league doesn't control anything in this grey area of conflicts of interests and has no transparency going forward in tackling these issues.

But it says nothing about lottery.

Billups being involved in an illegal poker game and then telling someone he’s resting starters doesn’t prove that the NBA rigged the lottery.

Like, a police officer may be corrupt, but that doesn’t prove that 9/11 was an inside job carried out by the police.

I wouldn't say this necessarily proves it, but of course it was rigged.

The Uber commercials about the NFL just being an ad to sell food proves TV ratings are rigged, and the NBA is actually the most popular sport in the US and on TV

I still wanna know why people would think the 28 other teams would agree to this

Cause that's what you guys are arguing, that every team thinks Luka going to the Lakers in exchange for Dallas jumping to #1 is good for them

Why would, for example, Steve Ballmer want this?
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

It being rigged was already obvious enough without this. You really don't need this to have happened to see that it's rigged. The whole thing of releasing a video where people pick balls and then after they pick the balls they say, "These balls meant this team, TRUST US" is just so cringe. But yes I guess having people get arrested is funny.

Lol don't do this to yourself. The people who think it's rigged will ignore the effectively impossible logistics of rigging the lottery and then laugh at you for not agreeing because "it's obvious".

Flagg to Dallas was hilarious enough, but then you had Harper to SA and Edgecombe to Philly the year before new TV partner broadcasts start. And then in the summer a surprise sale of the Lakers. Where Amazing Happens.

Anyway, the Billups thing isn't related but anyone who thinks a $165 billion league doesn't have a lever or two to prop up its franchises is just being naive.

The lottery being rigged has nothing to do with this scandal. The lottery has always been rigged, starting with Patrick Ewing.

no it doesn't prove that but it does prove that this dying league is now dead. the league grew to new heights under Jordan but died under LeBron. tells you everything you need to know really

If there is one thing I have learned in the past 9-10 years is that the American people love a conspiracy theory.

Same reason the owners have kept quiet about the Ballmer/Kawhi stuff and you have guys like Mark Cuban openly going to bat for him. It took a random reporter to break that story after 6 years. You think the league is seriously going to do anything about that? Silver works for the owners and won't do sh*t. Because to rock the boat too much would be bad for everybody.

There's a lot of money involved and these billionaires, who don't get to that point with clean hands anyways, understand that there's more money to be made by keeping quiet and being the good soldier and maintaining the facade of legitimacy for the league. And that their turn may come at some point.

And I don't think the league is scripted btw, just that they take liberties with all sorts of things and occasionally rig things/call in favors.
