They just named Spo as the coach. The five best basketball players in the world won't be on the team assuming you consider Jokic, SGA, Giannis, Luka, and Wembanyama as the best five. Lebron, Curry, and KD won't be on the team and if they are they're all going to be 42, 39, and 39.

Who's going to be on the roster and how do you like their odds versus the field.

Off the top of my head, I predict roster will be
Guards: Edwards, Brunson, Booker, Maxey, Booker
Forwards: Paolo, Tatum, Flagg, Jalen Williams, Holmgren
Centers: Bam, Mobley

I could see Halliburton, Jaylen Brown, and Donovan Mitchell also making the team.

Curious to see others thoughts on the potential roster and their chances to win against the rest of the world. USA should still be deeper than the other teams.

As international basketball fan, it hurts my heart seeing random dudes talk 2028 FIBA Olympics, when 2027 World Cup is right there one year before...

Anyhow, your team is good if Mobley chooses to represent USA.

Still a few years away but I would hope thay there's only seven or eight all-star/all-nba players on the roster and the last four or five spots are filled by other starting caliber/role players.

I get the super teams but like when lesser guys with skill sets can make the roster.

Also would like a roster with players 30 years old or younger as well.

Too early to discuss. But a mixture of Edwards, booker, Tatum, Hali, Flagg, Chet, Dybantsa, Peterson, JDub, Ware...

I'd go as of today this for a starting five.

I think 2028 will be the first time we see double bigs from the US in 20+ years. The biggest reason we haven't done it often in the past us because the bigs couldn't shoot, this time I think you could run a Chet/Mobley frontcourt and have the spacing for the wing attack. Mobley in this setting with a floor spacer next to him turns into a diet Giannis.

Probably the weakest Olympic roster since 2004, whoever is on the team.

All I can say is.. with the way I have seen some Euro teams, I don't think Team USA could get away playing "small ball"

Better load up on those true 6'11 dudes in the 4 and 5 spots

I wouldn't count out Steph or KD. LeBron was not only on the 2024 team at 39 years old, but he was named MVP of the whole tournament.
