Breaking news : Luka injured according to Shams ( at least a week)

He will miss at least 4 games.

I knew he would get hurt trying to carry this bunch of players, but not so fast !

At this point the Tank is on ! ( As I always wanted )

Brutal, he was playing at an MVP caliber. I do think JJ is playing him a little too much, though probably not why he is out, I worry about him over time.

Great fan of both players, but Luka is doing the right thing. He should save his long term health. The Lakers are not competitive this year, and they could use an high 2026 pick

Sucky for me as I just bought a ticket yesterday for the Wolves Vs Lakers game this week but atleast it was a cheap one.

Lakers likely to go winless in these games without LeBron/Luka, this is the time for Ayton if he has any heart at all time step up.

part and parcel to the whole investigation by the fbi of teams fudging on roster changes, is the barn door was flung WIDE OPEN with load management and tanking. load management IS THE EXCUSE for "tanking" and the resultant affect on gambling.

every sport in america now has it's eyes focused on this stuff

Tanking is probably they're best bet. The Mavs got Lively when Luka went out and they tanked. Poor Luka's career has been set back to 2020.

An injury two games into the season isn't going to be related to trying to carry a weaker roster, so it's not even worth mentioning in relation to the injury.

He has played 38 mpg over two games. In 23-24 for example, he played 70 games at 37.5 mpg.

Taking after game 2 because a player is out for at least a week is next level of craziness, it's already crazy to be taking after game 2. Mavs tanked at like game 75 that year lol

Yeah well, I mean if they can't stay healthy. They probably won't have a choice but to 'tank' anyway. They're trash without Luka.

Took a look at his Slovenia national play highlights from a month ago and then back to the other nights 49pt game and his face and midsection is definitely fatter lol.

Luka can reach arguably the best player status whenever but it appears already that he lacks discipline and is quite injury prone. Phenomenal player otherwise.

Yeah I know how many MPG he played, if he has other guys like Kyrie in 23-24, then great. We watched him basically solo score points over and over, it's a huge load to expect of someone. JJ played him 35MPG last year, I think that's more sustainable and his career average. Your 37.5 figure he did once with a full season of Kyrie.

I'm not ripping JJ, I just worry JJ might chase wins and overload him with LeBron out.

Even with a healthy Luka averaging 40, this team was never going anywhere. They simply do not have the depth or the type of lob threat that Luka thrives with.

At this point the Lakers aren't trying to win until Lebron is off their books.
