It is way too early in the season to be judging any teams.

With that said, I've said it before and will continue to say it: Mike Brown is not good at running an offense.

I mean, the Thibs NYK offense wasn't some kind of complex thing either. Most of the time it was Isos with a few different ato's. "My turn" offense between Brunson and KAT while Bridges commits the most horrible looking pull up middies. There is a reason the Pistons took them to game 6 last season.

It's not gonna be the best under Brown either, but when you have that much offense like the Knicks do, it's kind of hard to mess it up. Give it time and these numbers will look better.

Karl Anthony Towns plays while being injured (?), Hart as well (?), and the Knicks struggle from 3pt line - it's not that surprising they regressed so far offensively.

Long term - their issues are defense, depth, and health, because offensively they were pretty legit last year.

We have to acknowledge that:

1) Players are missing a lot of clean 3p shots. It should be in some extension due to the lack of rhythm.

2) We are missing Mitch, who started pre-season games, due to an undisclosed injury.

3) We missed Deuce, our best shooter, for the last 2 games due to personal reasons.

4) KAT is playing through a quad injury, and his offensive performance is poor. He is missing a lot of bunnies. Shooting 35% from the field. (shot 52% last season).

5) Hart is playing through a broken finger, and he is shooting terribly when he is not too afraid to shoot.

6) The newcomers, Yabu and Clarkson, still look kind of lost. And Yabu is injured now.

7) Kolek and Huk are sophomore second-rounders who are playing more minutes this season. Thibs avoided using them because they are far from ready. Brown is facing the growing pains.

OG and Towns are too clumsy to play fast.

It was always going to be an adjustment period after Thibs was canned.

Too early to worry/panic about the Knicks, esp as others have mentioned a couple of their key players are playing under duress/injured

By the same token, Thibs firing was i think a bit harsh.

Its only 2nd week of the regular season. They'll be fine i think

That's correct.

It's an issue with the players and not Coach Brown, but Coach takes the heat.

Jordan Clarkson is a bad player now (IMO). He'll have flashes, but I just don't like his ballhog nature. I also don't like that Yabusele came into the season fat AF.

And if they give him double digit field goal attempts, like he's use to having, it's going to hurt the team. They need to feature him some and trade him at the deadline for needs.

Not really. The Kings had a lot of issues besides Mike Brown.

As for the Knicks, it is too early to say for sure.

How a team plays on one end affects the other. Thibs' defensive style is intimately related to his low turnover, ORB-focused offense. There are always tradeoffs; basketball isn't turn-based like baseball or football (NFL). It's continuous, flowing from offense to defense, and defense to offense. I always laugh when Thibs critics say "why doesn't he just implement an offensive system!" like it's an isolated element from the defense & lineups/rotations.

So it's the players fault Brown only knows how to run one style and can't adjust? And that's good coaching... how?
