34 points this season, almost in the 50-40-90 club and now Jazz down 20 agains the fricking Hornets without Lamelo after the 1st. Dude finally deserves to be on a serious team.

Get this man to the Spurs

He chose the money, he doesn't need to be saved.

So you’re telling me, if you were him, you would have taken much less so Ainge can trade you to a team that Danny picks? Really?

He decided to re-sign fully knowing he'd be wasting his career, that's on him.

I have no opinion on what he should or should not have done.

I just reject the premise he needs to be saved.

He signed up long term for a team that was obviously not competitive nor close.

He chose this.

Didn't he extend with the knowledge/communication that Jazz would soon be competitive?

This. He knew what he was signing for. If he wanted to compete he could've picked the FA route. Im pretty sure some good team would sign him for 4 years max. I'm not saying he did wrong in taking the money(I would've do the same), but he cant play the victim card.

If that's the case he must not have taken a good look at the Jazz roster before he signed..

What on earth would have indicated they would be anywhere close to competitive anytime soon?

No one forced him to sign that contract.

He won where thought it matter most and his agent been pushing him to make the most money possible.

Lauri came into the league saying all he wanted to do is win. But right now that his bank account.

Knowing Ainge, his asking price is a time machine carrying 1991 Michael Jordan, and 6 unprotected first round picks.

I mean where things were and where they may have been presented as soon being are two different things. Ainge Jr. is now running things and perhaps they're pivoting? I'm perpetually confused why Lauri and Kessler are on the block (or either one) but it's for Jazz FO to explain. Ainge Sr. waited too long with too high asking prices for Collins and Sexron, for example, and they were shipped off for far lower than initially desired return. Perhaps the same will be for either Lauri or Kessler.

The Jazz gave a great deal of conflicting info to different parties during that summer. The local press was told that the Jazz planned to throw games for three straight years, while the national press was told that Markkanen was informed that the Jazz would tank for one year and then bounce back.

:o

Nooo...

As always, Lauri has to check the consistency - or not - of words and actions / results.
