I lived through the 2009-2010 Nets season where they won 12 games and that team would beat this team by double digits...

*And as a fan I'm not even mad. With all the unethical tanking that has gone on recently it's about time that someone take a stand and show others that if you're committed you can still ethically tank.

This team is going to struggle to get to 10 wins because they're legitimately that bad. No fake player shutdowns or injuries, they're just... A really bad basketball team.

I don't really know that we can say any of his recent picks are bad just yet. Most of the guys he drafted this past year are 19 year old projects. Have to give them a few years at least as Demin and Traore in particular have a ton of room in terms of physical maturation.

It's really hard to win 10 or less. The Nets have nothing on the 93 Mavs who had the worst offense and the worst defense in the league and they still won 11 games. Believe it or not the Nets' offense is actually in the middle of the pack (bottom defense of course). They'll eventually pick up some wins when the season becomes more of a slog. They might be in the 11 to 15 win range though

Jordi Fernandez, is a pretty good coach IMO, but he needs to look in the mirror. If guys aren't giving effort, none of them have the standing to not be benched. The organization wants to lose this year, so they literally gave you a blank slate, with guys who need development. Guys who don't compete, ride the pine. It's pretty damn simple. He acts like he has no say in the matter and I don't understand it.

Sure, but seems unlikely they will go from this bad to a playoff team (even in the East) by next season. That pick will almost certainly be a lottery pick.

Thing is, Nets starting 5, one that started vs 76ers, isn't even young

Average age was probably around 26 for starters, not that bench was that much younger either.

Problem with Nets, or Marks in particular, is fact that he drafted 3 rookies who shouldn't be in nba yet. All 3- Demin; Saraf and Traore should have been in Europe for at least 1 more year.
On top of that , in 2023, he flat out drafted two bums in three picks, with Cam being "hit", but even that "hit" is very questionable if goals is to be anything more than entertaining trainwreck. Guy literally doesn't pass nor grasps concept of team sport.

3 rookies + pretty much all 3 picks from 2023 are now unplayable. Even if you are biggest pro-tanker, you still can't just "fix" this by sucking this year, than drafting well in 2026, as in 2027 you have no pick.

Matter of fact, Nets are so damn terrible that i'm not sure that they can fix this roster even by 2029, where they also don't control pick.

Current roster is probably 15-ish wins team, with strong possibility of being one of worst teams in history.
