Looks like his time as a Grizzly is over. He’s got 2 years after this season. What are realistic and fair deals your team would offer? Or if not your team then what do you think are some ideal trade scenarios?

It’s hard to find a proper fit for him IMO
He really lacks support skills and is better suited to be a star, but isn’t good enough to fulfill the role. Even if he was good enough, he isn’t mature enough or reliable enough to burden the responsibility.
I think he’d be a good fit for a bad team looking to put butts in the seat while tanking
PHX, Brooklyn, UT, SAC, NO, WAS

This!
He's a really good player who's "role" is pretty common in the league today.

Celtics wouldn't offer a damn thing. Brad Stevens doesn't mess around with low-character/distraction type of players. Also fairly certain Mazzula and Ja would get in a fist fight the first week.
With that being said, I'm a huge fan of what Ja brings when he's fully bought-in but there's too much nonsense around this guy.

No thank you. I wouldn't even offer Ivey.
About 3 years ago I had a friend that would have been willing to trade Ja for Cade. I'm gonna text him today I think to tell him how wrong he was again. It made no sense fit/money wise even then when Ja was "good in the west".
There is no deal that lands him on another contender. He'll be dealt to a team that stinks and never embraces tanking.

Schroder/Lavine and one unprotected pick (perhaps 2026) for Morant/KCP.
Maybe Phoenix is willing to make a trade surrounding Jalen Green/Nick Richards. No picks. Other than that, I feel everyone's going to be whelmed by any deal for him. Guy is just not as good as his remaining stans think.

I like the idea of the Pelicans.
Put him and Zion together, neither guy has lived up to the hype or expectations.
Reminds me a little of when the Wolves traded for Beasley while still having Love.
Get 2 top picks from the same draft, let em sink together.

I really liked the kid's game a couple of years ago, but his dysfunction and immaturity is a dealbreaker now. Frankly, I don't know if I would take him for just cap space next summer. Not the attitude and influence I'd want around a young team.

Re: What would your team offer for Ja Morant (fair & realistic only)
I really wouldn't want Ja on my team, imo he's more trouble than he's worth. On the court he struggles to stay healthy, his game has unquestionably declined over the last couple of years. Most concerning to me is how he's never been able to develop a 3 pointer, you'd think in the current NBA and 7 years in he'd show some improvement in that regard, but he's failed to crack 31% the last 3 years now, just abysmal from your point guard, and while a small sample size, is shooting an atrocious 16% 2 weeks into this year.
That's strictly his on the court flaws, his off the court ones are well documented, he seems unbelievably immature, he's a poor leader, to me he just doesn't have the on court impact to justify all the nonsense he brings off the court.

If there is a PG available I always suggest Orlando, as they desperately need one, but Ja is a wildcard for sure. New spot may reignite him, especially playing with Bane again.
Tough call.

Re: What would your team offer for Ja Morant (fair & realistic only)
Send him to the Heat to play with Bam and Tyler Herro.
I think Ja has the ability to be more than a Temu version of Iverson.
I think he could be an Isiah Thomas type, where he is a leader via his play style and get other players to follow him.He doesn't have to be THE LEADER (TM).
Let Ja get his pick and rolls so he can get his 25 points, but also tell him to get 10 to 15 assists a game. He'll be fine.
He has a high level of basketball genius. He also doesn't need the ball all of the time. He isn't a Trae Young/Steve Nash type of PG that pounds the ball. Ja can do back door cuts and hand offs.
He just needs a coach that has enough respect and cache that he can't pout and get a response.
Spo had to stand up to LeBron, he had to stand up to Jimmy Butler, he isn't gonna have a problem with Ja Morant.

You're also going to have to pay him when he's right around 30...and his game will fall off a cliff. Is it possible he has negative value?

Phoenix. Green for Morant package. Phoenix doesn’t really have anything to lose doing that, probably gets some excitement and more fans in the seats while balancing their roster out a bit more and get a clear talent upgrade at least in exchange for crazy. Memphis kinda just gets a salary slot/cap relief and a hopefully better locker room and a team willing to take on crazy who has nothing to lose.

I like that. The Suns have nothing to lose anyway, so they should embrace any crapshots that come their way.

Crazy how Ja went from being seen as a young MVP level player a few years ago to someone with negative value that they may need to attach assets to move

I don't see MEM biting on this one. Picks seem to almost always be part of a trade package and seeing how badly we're lacking in that department, I suspect they don't even answer the call. It's an entertaining thought for sure and I'd love to be rid of Green before he even sets foot on the court as a member of the team, but this one just is about as unlikely as it gets.
While the trade does work without picks, this problem arises for the Suns:
Roster Compliance
Phoenix would have 10 standard contract players after the trade and would need to get to 14 to be in roster compliance.

Re: What would your team offer for Ja Morant (fair & realistic only)
If Miami has reservations about paying Herro $40+M, then it'd make sense for Miami to offer Herro for Morant. (I can't see a Herro-Morant backcourt being optimal from a defensive standpoint, so I think this kind of has to be the move anyway.) I also think Powell is just a better player than Herro and that it would make sense for Miami to re-sign Powell at a more reasonable number (probably 3-years, $90M-$100M gets Powell) than paying Herro ~$200M over 4 or $225M over 5 years.
Similar situation in Atlanta with T Young. Young for Ja makes a lot of sense if Atlanta doesn't want to commit to the massive extension Trae is looking for.

Absolutely utterly nothing. I would want picks attached to even consider him on Portland.

His game is moving backwards, his mentality sucks, and he's a negative on defense. Zach Lavine package.
