When they were at their best, which did you enjoy watching more? :usa:

Kobe was the lesser player so his struggles were more entertaining to watch - there was no guarantee he will prevail and sometimes his teams prevailed despite him(Pau won the Celtics series in my mind).

Curry prime takes a hit especially for Durant seasons - team was too good to a point I've actually felt checked out and bored of watching NBA for the first time in my life.

Curry. He just took the skill of shooting to another level, and kind of broke the way people viewed the game and what was possible to do in terms of scoring and shooting. I think he is the more generational talent of the two, even if Kobe has some arguments to being the better player.

Kobe began the trend of shooting 3s from a LONG way out.

I know Curry took it further toward the half-court-line, but Kobe was doing something nobody else did, launching 3s from WAY outside the 3-point-line without warning... and early in the shot-clock.

And Kobe didn't rely on screens, because Kobe was happy to shoot in your face!

Plus i noticed Kobe's shooting motion looks WAY prettier than Curry's, and Kobe's footwork obviously too.

Kobe had a beautiful game, I drilled some of the fun pump fakes and moves he would do, but Kobe as also a bit of a replica, so I had seen it before.

Curry was more entertaining to me because it was an original, and it also basically came outta nowhere.

Did he now? I don't remember any trend happening in relation to that based on Kobe, unless I'm misunderstanding what a "trend" is.

Also, the guys from the early to mid 00's era we could point to if there was a trend would be Arenas and Vince Carter.

Gonna go peak Kobe.

I know that Curry change the game, but Kobe had more diversity to his game. Go to the rim, mid range, some crazy footwork. Maybe I'm too old to really enjoy all those 3^^

And being from France, Curry is just a cheatcode from downtown

Kobe was just a poor facsimile of MJ. Worse at literally everything. Still all-time great but it was something we had been watching but a better version of it, for the previous couple of decades. Steph was completely different. We've had sharpshooters but nobody ever off the dribble and from so deep. I think he saved the NBA which was in a really bad place there for awhile. At least for a bit the ratings improved and he inspired millions of young players and changed the game.

Yep true, i love how much variety Kobe has, his footwork in ALL situations is entertaining. You know your footwork is special when its entertaining, whereas there aren't many players who make you think of their footwork so romantically.

Curry definitely ends up repeating the same shots over and over, whereas Kobe gives you a wider range of highlights...

Plus i believed the myth that Kobe was a copy of MJ, but now i realize Kobe had a different shooting motion to MJ, and Kobe's movements were not the same as MJ's, even when they post-up they were not the same if you really look at their gestures.

Of course MJ could palm the ball, while Kobe couldn't, so Kobe had to do things differently, plus Kobe enjoyed attempting off-balanced shots, while MJ liked to be balanced whenever possible (even in the air MJ liked squaring up before release).

Kobe was accused of taking really bad shots, because he loved off-balanced shots, and loved a hand in his face.

That's another big difference between Kobe and Curry, because Curry got open A LOT by moving without the ball and with screens, whereas Kobe would often stand still in front of his defender and wait and then just shoot without even trying to create space... its extremely great fun to watch Kobe take the most difficult contested shots in NBA history.

Well Kobe had a more aesthetic game, a more conventionally attractive look, released rap albums, dated pop stars, feuded with **** slinging bullies and didn't need a super team to win 5 titles. He also had a hotter wife.

This is not even close. I guess Curry wins if your favorite part of the NBA is the sprite 3 point contest and you think 67 is an actual word ...

Kobe was way more interesting to watch in his prime.

Curry for me, because he changed the game forever (or at least for a generation) with his phenomenonal and unprecedented 3 point shooting prowess which was/is basically unguardable.

Loved Kobe too (may he rest in peace) who brought a lot of love and spark to the game, but as a Hoops fans purist whose first NBA hero was Larry Bird, Steph gets my vote..

This is one of those questions where there is no right or wrong answer. A compelling argument/case can be made for either legend.

Curry is the most entertaining player in history.
My absolute favourite, looking forward to every game even at this age.

Both more entertaining than Duncan. Light years.

I'd rather have Curry if I was starting a team from scratch, but Kobe is more entertaining.

Kobe is at the bottom of my all-time top ten, but he might just be the MOST exciting player of all-time.

There's a reason he is worshipped like a god; millions of people were enraptured by the excitement he brought. So much so that the excitement, in my opinion, has blinded their logic and rational thought.

Kobe was more entertaining to watch to me because of the diversity of his attack. As Anderson Hunt said above me, it's no coincidence he's one of the most idolized players of all times.

A Curry avalanche has its own special charm, but it's kind of the same unstoppable skill on repeat.
