Seems like last year I was still watching him play for Milan. When Knicks Drafted him, I remember that report saying Knicks doctors believe Danillo will grow another 2 inches, and they were right, he ended up being almost 6'10.

Enjoy life, Gallo. Could have made an All-Star team or two if it wasn't for the injuries. Good career anyway. He was also part of the infamous PG/SGA trade.

Just read this from his wikipedia page:
According to multiple sources, before Kim Kardashian began dating Kris Humphries, she was extremely interested in dating Gallinari, who was told that such a move would be good for his career and that he would garner lots of media exposure. Gallinari declined, saying he would be happy to meet Kardashian but wasn't interested in dating her.

How legendary is this guy?

Refusing Kardashian does not make you legendary, but it clarifies you have a brain.

Gallo was always one of my favourite players. Loved the smooth shot even if he was torching my teams lol. Great feel for the offensive game of the ball. I think his passing was a little underrated, he never had great aggregate #s of assists but I always felt like he had a good sense to get the ball moving. He just had style and a clean collection of shots from his moves, counters, and range. Over 11k RS points, but not many appearances in the playoffs, and never as a 1A. Solid NBA career for Gallo overall. Ciao, Gallo, grazie a tutti !
Cheers

Oh, wow. I thought he'd retired like two years ago. His last NBA season, he bounced to like 3 different teams.

He was fun in his day, for sure.

Gallo was a very funky player. Way too much dribbling drive game for a body that size. So many defender had to give up and foul him once he got going downhill. It wasn't a pure brute strength power game though, he was super crafty and shifty. He complimented this with some elite (but inconsistent) outside shooting. On defense he was a bit of a tweener and fairly limited.

Injuries reduced his career quite a bit. He might have made a few all-star teams with better health.

I was surprised he wasn't already, but that was also the case when I saw a story about how Kenneth Faried is killing it in Euroleague right now

Says a lot about the Euroleague…

Anyways good for Gallinari. He had a good career in the best league in the NBA.

Gallinari was Puerto Rico league MVP or finals MVP this summer.

Also, Faried very surprisingly was named Euroleague MVP of November, he is just on short term contract because all PAO centers are injured, but he filled in amazingly well. But he is a player who relies on guard creation and the fact he landed on team with Sloukas, Nunn and Shorts did help him a lot. But he had games where he was also blocking shots etc, he looked great.

That said, Euroleague is still very very good and I will not let **** talk it. Beside the fact it is more entertaining and close game just play out without 25 minute stoppage time, tHis FIBA window was another reminder how good Euroleague players are in grand scheme of things, because few players of theirs that playing in FIBA window, just dominated. Satoransky was setting records and I was watching Italy games and their Euroleague player, Gabriele Procida looked unstoppable, you would have thought he is NBA player for sure. And thats the guy who is on Real Madrid, so you know he is good, but he only appeared in one Euroleague game this seaosn, he is DNP-CD over 90% of the time in EUroleague, and during FIBA windows he still looked like a superstar player. Having EL players on NAtional teams now, is like having NBA players 20 years ago.

I suspect his pregnant wife being bit by a shark figures into this.

I was excited when the Celtics signed him to a 2 year contract. But because of injuries and being traded the following season, he never played a game for Boston. Too bad.
He had a solid career.

Faried was playing in Mexico City for goodness sake for several years prior and is currently 36 years old… that says something about the level of play.

You can have several players so far detached from their prime and be high level players in the Euroleague.

It clearly says a lot despite what you feel about it. You want to put caveats about it, umm okay… I am
sure most people didn’t know he was even still playing just like Gallinari.

The last time I heard about Gallinari is that he was salary filler for the Murray trade and was immediately waived.

It was great that he was some Puerto Rican MVP or something but like many have said, he has not been on anyone’s radar for a while.

I think the fact he is no longer very good and is married with children factors into this. He played in Eurobasket after the beach incident, which says that it was not serious. Guy is simply old now and want to be in his home, not Puerto Rico.
