Who are they? And who would be the best candidates for a new coaching gig this offseason?

If you didn't care, then why did you post? This forum isn't all about post counts, you know.

Greg Grgurich is widely recognized as the best development coach in the NBA (man, imagine if the Blazers still had him). But he will never, ever be a head coach. He is very quiet and hates the media.

On the Lakers, Rambis is pretty solid (a lot better now than when he coached Shaq and Kobe). Was interview by the Kings and Sonics last summer for head coaching gigs.

Tim Grgurich is an excellent, excellent assistant. I wanted the Lakers to go after him so badly.

I remember hearing Charles Barkely say the Pistons assistant and former Milwaukee head coach Terry Porter will one day be a GREAT, not just good, coach in this league.

Ah yes, Tim, not Greg.
Apparently Grg was the only person that could convince Kmart to come back on the court when KMart blew up on Karl in the playoffs a couple years ago. Everyone loves Grg.

IDK but Tim Walsh is easily the best athletic trainer in the NBA.

Porter's been a head coach before. He wasn't too bad. He deserves another chance.

The way Boylan has been coaching, I'd throw his hat into the ring. Very impressive. He's got the Bulls out on the break and finishing plays at the rim. Something we rarely saw with Skiles. IMO, there's a good chance Boylan becomes head coach next season.

For Miami, it's gotta be Eric Spoelstra. He might very well be the heir to Riley, once Riley calls it a career.
Spoelstra's been here for nearly 12 years. He started off as the team's video guy, created all the game tapes for the players and placed them in their lockers before each game.
He's now one of Riley's lead assistants, and has been a lead assistant for quite some time for this team.
He's also one of coaching staff's best teachers. -- He's worked with basically all the youngsters that come in and help them with their shooting, and you see the difference in their games almost immediately.

What about Herb Williams? I'm not a Knicks fan, so I can't say for certain anything about him, but he seems like he'd make a good head coach.

Our assistant coach Phil Johnson won COY before he joined the Jazz.

Frank Layden has also won COY. It must be Sloan's personality.

Doug Moe, baby.
Seriously though, Adrian Dantley is pretty good.
Dwayne Casey is a good one- and maybe should have stayed one.
Same with PJ Carlesimo.
