How good would Denver be? If Karl is replaced with Popovich.

Best of the West?

They'd be a significantly better team because the run and gun crap would be cut out of their gameplan and Melo would be utilized to his full extent.

I don't know how he'd be on offense. Obviousely he can coach defense. But what is he gonna do without a dominant post player and penetrator?

Melo is a nice post scorer but he's no Duncan. From the post Duncan is a more effective passer.

Wow, i think they'd atleast go to the wcf. But imo Duncan is based on the success of that team.

could he bring horry with him? and maybe barry too? someone to hit 3's.
then he'd be very successful.

That shouldn't be a problem, considering they already are in the top 5 in Defense.

I do think Pop would make the Nuggets a lot better. I don't think his offense would be iso, iso, dribble, dribble.. TO, forced shot, etc.

The question is would the Denver players, specially Melo and AI buy into Pops system?

they would be better
but not as much as you would think, because the players SA has, is a big reason for success

but the team would improve greatly in a couple years with Pop because of his eye for talent

He would play Smith more I can tell you that...

that would be fun to watch.

-Pop is a big fan of Iverson's game so he'd probably find an even better way to incorporate him in the system.

-Melo and Nene would be used better in the post.

-and actually having some plays would help Denver in crunch time (altho they've been pretty clutch this year on wild buzzer beaters).

He'd probably do a bit better than some rando re-opening a 17-year-old thread.

JR Smith, lol. He'd have been traded to Charlotte after 5 minutes.

Not so sure about that. Spurs tried to trade for Smith when he was with the NOLA Hornets for Brent Barry back in like 2005/2006 or so and the deal got to the league office too late and fell through. Pop wouldn't have tried to trade for him if he didn't think he could coach him
