All of the people saying Stern did this because he favors the Miami Heat need to understand something. The best thing Miami can do right now is lose. The more they lose, the higher the pick they will get. If Stern favored Miami, he would have let the loss stay a loss. Instead, he's giving the Heat the opportunity to actually win the game, which is not a good thing for Miami.

It was the Heat organization that protested the loss and asked for this. So Stern granted a re-do, something he's not done for any team in recent memory (including Toronto that lost due to the same Atlanta score keeper in a 1 pt game last year).

My guess is that the replay wouldn't be happening if this wasn't the second time in two years that the Atlanta scorekeepers made a potentially game-changing error. Even though the replay will be rather meaningless, the league is pretty much forced to take action.
The $50,000 fine should have been action enough. Make an example of the organization and leave well enough alone. This is absurd.

Wrong. The Heat didn't ask for a redo of a game. They asked that the official record that said Shaq fouled out of the game be changed. They asked for this because Shaq came dangerously close to tying the record for most foul outs in a row (6). They were looking out for Shaq's legacy, not trying to get a redo.

The Heat protested the game...I really don't think they cared about Shaq fouling out of 5 or 6 games in a row.

A BS foul is purely subjective and is something the NBA wouldn't bother with. This is totally different. Shaq shouldn't have been fouled out of the game. It can be shown that he should have still been on the floor. If this goes unchecked what's to prevent score keepers from doing this more often????

If they didn't care about Shaq having a bad record to his name and legacy, then Riley wouldn't have sat him out for the rest of the game when he got his 5th foul in the game which could have been his 6th straight foul out. That was a close game too.
