To be fair, Kwame was hit on the face on that dunk attempt.

And that last drive was an obvious Kwame foul. No reason for the refs to swallow the whistles there.

Lakers downfall to start tomorrow vs Seattle.

They screwed up there on Miller, too. For sure. So that's two key bad calls.

Would the no-call on Lowry be a make-up call, though? I would hope not. That just makes it worse.

Usually make-up calls are the next possession down the court or close to it. I just think the refs were bad in general.

And, here possibly comes the feared key injury to hurt the Lakers... just wow

Didn't really know about that till the 4th qtr. I hope he's not out long. I really have gotten to like Bynum and what he's doing for the Lakers.

The LA Times headline says it's a sprain and the MRI is to determine the severity of the sprain but I don't see how they could know if it's torn or not without an MRI.

hurts on the knee cap mainly

no pops heard at all, hurts when he bends thats all

never injured this knee

he can put weight on it and move it and walk

it is feeling far better

they iced it and starting feeling better immediatly.

isn't extremely concerned about the injury.

can move it side-2-side

Man, Bynum seemed so high-spirited and optimistic through that interview.

Very nice to see.

It was just on FSN. Maybe it'll be up by tomorrow morning.

BTW, he was standing on his own during the interview, which is a good sign after he was carried and his leg was held up by a teammate all the way to the locker room.

I looked at the replay again. I think it really is a sprain, mild to moderate. He'll either be day to day or 3-4 weeks. If it was an ACL tear, he wouldn't be able to stand without crutches, same with MCL. I hope he'll be fine.

Not saying it was the correct call just throwing this out there for the Lakers-Grizzlies game

VERTICALITY-Verticality applies to a legal position. The basic components of the principle of verticality are:
Legal guarding position must be established and attained initially, and movement thereafter must be legal;
From this position, the defender may rise or jump vertically and occupy the space within his or her vertical plane;
The hands and arms of the defender may be raised within his or her vertical plane while the defender is on the floor or in the air;
The defender should not be penalized for leaving the floor vertically or having his or her hands and arms extended within the vertical plane;
The offensive player whether on the floor or airborne may not clear out or cause contact that is a foul;
The defender may not "belly up" or use the lower part of the body or arms to cause contact that is a foul outside his or her vertical plane.

The nocall on lowery is bad at the end of the game. But is there a difference in that call vs. Millers obvious carry of the ball ? Both could have been game changing. Bad officiating.

VERTICALITY

is neglected in every other instance of playing defense in nba basketball, and has been for years. kobe/wade/james/iverson/ginobili get 2-4 free throws a game off drawing contact from a completely vertical defender.

why stick to the rule in the scenario tonight and ignore it every other time?

Hate to burst your bubble, but I have seen my sister tear her acl twice and it was a lot like what Bynum is experiencing. She couldn't/didn't want to put weight on it immediately but an hour later was able to walk around a little. Both times the trainer's didn't think it was torn, and both times the mri showed that it was. I hope Bynum is well, and it is good news, but that mri can be a witch.

Because Lowry hasn't earned the respect that kobe/wade/james/iverson/ginobli have.
