LAKERS number 1 seed in the Western Conference. Officially

Post#1 » by KobeFarmarEra » Tue Jan 15, 2008 6:52 am

Boston is #1 in the East. Good times eh?

Of course the Lakers have probably the toughest schedule in the league over the next month and Bynum is out. Won't last. But is quite amazing when you think how most people were counting them out before the season.

Yup ... Phoenix, @SA, @Dal (off back to back) Nuggets, cavs, Knicks then the 9 game road trip begins starting @Pistons so enjoy it while it last lol ...

still great accomplishment considering how many people counted them out

That game with the Suns on thursday will be HUGE. Unfortunate Bynum can't play.

well over the next few weeks, we could either prove we deserve the number one spot, or uhhh... drop down to a lower seed. without bynum. sigh..

So.....? Lakers will be lucky if they do the playoffs.

Suns, Mavs, Spurs, Jazz, Rockets, Hornets will be for sure, then we have the Nuggets and the Warriors.

So the Lakers will be lucky to make the playoffs despite sitting atop the Western conference standings while Houston and the Jazz are locks to make it evne though they are sitting on the 9 and 10 seeds?

I know it wont last long without Bynum... But I find it hilarious how many RealGM'ers said that the Lakers would miss the playoffs and now they are in first place almost mid way through the season....

I'm a Lakers fan and first off I'd like to say that it's awesome that Boston and LA are number 1.

Secondly I'd like to say that alot of it was due to Bynum. Without Bynum we're screwed. With Bynum, make no mistake we'd maintain atleast top 4.

In the regular season, each team plays 82 games,

Won't last, but it shows how good they've been this season, and have gotten better.

They're fun to watch and play a winning-style of basketball.

Without Bynum, scrubs like Nick Collison DOMINATE the Lakers in the paint. I'll enjoy this while it lasts though.

only just beat memphis, and a last second shot in O/T to beat Seattle, and we are going to go 18/10?? I think .500 would be a good result for the extended road trip.

As much as I want them to lose, I think they will be alright. Losing Bynum is a big blow, but Bynum is not the only reason they're where they're right now. They still have Fisher and an improved Farmer. I do expect them to drop though...after all, Utah is the 9th seed right now and is climbing up the standing slowly. And then you have Golden State, New Orleands and you'd expect Dallas and SA to right the ship...the West is just so damn good with a bunch of 20+ win teams.

people who think we're going to be okay without bynum are extremely misinformed. kwame is the most useless center in the league (not the worst, but the most useless because he sucks and on top of that he tries to try the least in the nba).
