A recent article had a quote from richard jefferson saying that kidd was the best net ever. The article disagreed and said DR J. duh.
But the article said great Dr j was as a player and added the 3 aba mvps and 2 aba championships. But He was only with the Team for 3 years and never played with the team in the nba.
Dr J was the better player but I think as far as a nets career goes Kidd takes it. Kidd has brought that team from nothing to a 2 nba finals and a playoff contender since he stepped on the floor with them. He has done more for the team than anyone previous to him. Yes he doesn't have the ring or the mvps but after the merge to the nba the nets have been nothing until kidd brought them out of it.
Who do you think is the best NET ever Kidd or Erving?

I'd actually rank Dr.J and Kidd the same.
The most talented net of all time was Derrick Coleman

Jason Collins. Anyone that doesn't agree can just STFU.

Coleman was talented and wasted it but never in the same league of talent as Erving. He was in the same talent group as George McGinnis or Antonio McDyess possibly (without the shooting range or ballhandling but as George shot too many long balls that might be a good thing); Erving is up in the Jordan, Bird, Magic, Oscar talent level . . . only non big today that is there is Kobe.

Kidd, Dr.J, and Petrovic seem like the top three. I can't decide.

How is that a knock? With the team 3 years and he brings 2 titles and 3 MVPs. He really couldn't do much more in 3 years, could he?

The other thing Dr J did for the nets was make them an NBA team. There very likely wouldn't be the Nets, Nuggets, Pacers or Spurs in the NBA without Dr. J as he's the reason the leagues merged.

Erving
Consider when discussing Erving playing only 3 years on the Nets: Kidd only led the Nets to much above .500 on 4 occasions. I hope you think it's as insane as I do to give Kidd the nod based .500 years in this Eastern Conference, and I hope you find it just as obvious that Erving's top 3 years are way better than Kidd's. So to me it'd only make sense to give Kidd the nod based on 4>3. However if you think like that, consider that Walton is a Top 50 player of all time based on about 1.5 seasons as an MVP level player. *That's* how heavily people traditionally weight peak. So if you do go by 4>3, you deviating from the norm significantly.

Okay you're totally underrating Erving I'd say. Yeah, Coleman had lots of talent, but we are not talking Shaq/Hakeem level talent.
