meh.......aside from the the 360 behind the back, theres nothing to show he deserves it. That first dunk was nothing special at all. I think you have to earn your right to the contest with spectacular dunks during the season (except for green, who is defending champ)

Well Dwight is a bigger star, Jamario Moon was already announced, Green is the returning champ and Gay is just a good of a dunker as Young and said he wanted to be in the contest too. So it was kind of pick and choose, and Gay is a better known player, so they choose him.

Even as a Wizards diehard and a Nick Young fan, I never thought he should be in the dunk contest.

What the first two youtube videos don't show you are the numerous missed dunk attempts this season for N1. He just hasn't showed much reason to be mentioned with the best dunkers in the league, this season.

You actually have to be a semi-good player to get invited, so I'm not surprised Young wasn't.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not. If it isn't, A) Young is actually doing well this season and better than most expected, and B) Gerald Green?

Young is averaging 6.7 ppg and is only playing 14mpg. He's also averaging 1.3 rpg and 0.8 apg. Even though he's doing better than expected, he's still not considered a "good" player.

The only reason Gerald Green is in it this year because he's the current champion. Last year, Green had a lot of hype and was at least averaging 10 and 3.
