Don't the Spurs Care About Being a Top 4 Seed?

Because they aren't playing like it lately. They are sleepwalking through yet ANOTHER game tonight. If they lose to the Heat tonight, San Antonio will fall to the #6 seed in the West -- which means they wouldn't get home court in the playoffs.

Probably not...
Funny thing is, if a team like the Lakers, Hornets, Jazz, Rockets etc... were to get home court advantage against the Spurs in a first round series, the Spurs would still probably eliminate them in 5 games max...

Barring an injury to Duncan, the spurs will be ready come playoff time.

I realize that, but the Western Conference is a lot tougher than the East...the Spurs can't afford to fall too far behind its competition now and expect to make a late run for a Top 4 seed.

The Spurs typically pick it up just after the All-Star break, if they're bound for a title.
They went 25-6 to end the season last year, so give them time. Personally, I'm not convinced they can repeat this year but we'll see.

Well we haven't won a title as a 4th seed... done it as a 1st,2nd and 3rd seed. Anyways... we are what 1 game behind the 1st seed in January?

is this going to be a weekly thread for the rest of the year? or just every time the spurs have a nationally televised game? cause if so, i should probably just save the answer and c&p it each time:
wake me in april...

Right now Dallas, Spurs and Suns are all not playing very well. in fact, the blazers and hornets and lakers (up until they lost Bynum) were all playing better than those teams. However, people sholdn't sleep on any of those three, esp the Spurs, b/c they have been and there and done that in terms of advancing in the playoffs. And given the right matchup and scenario, I'd say the west is WIDE open.

Tim Duncan only cares about one thing: his middle finger (or his index, or ring, or pinkie, or thumb)

It would be nice to see the Spurs as the 4th or 5th seed in the playoffs and play a team like the Mavs in Round 1.
