Should NBA go to one single standings table?

And just do top 16 make it? Right now, 2 east teams would be knocked off and 2 west teams would be added. Of course that doesn't factor teams playing other teams the same number of times.

I feel bad for a team like Sacramento who is a long shot and is looking better healthy, compared to my pathetic Bulls, who are right in it with a worse record.

You'd have to get rid of divisions and conferences, then.

I don't believe it's worth merging the conferences during the playoffs like that. No other pro league in America does. The disparity between the East and West is something that will change eventually. There's also something cool about having the final match being the only one "between" conferences.

I'd go for knocking out divisions, and just having two conferences. Strange that a team should automatically get at least the 4 seed for winning their conference.

Beyond that, I do believe 8 teams from each conference should make it. The one change I'd agree with would be reseeding after each round of the playoffs (only within the conference), a way to reward teams for having a good regular season. Top team remaining always plays the worst team left.

The NFL already does it rather than a straight bracket, no reason the NBA couldn't also.

Just have 4 divisions for the entire NBA... Atlantic,Central,Midwest, and Pacific like before. Get rid of the Northwest and Southeast divisions.

it works out in the playoff format

i dont like to hear excuses of time/travel management BS

there are no b2b games in the playoffs, there are usually 1-2 day break in between games and then a 3 day break
