what if someone copies Kobe like he did to MJ?

Kobe took Jordan's game and used it in his own. What if, six years from now, a kid who's drafted has the same skills and manniserims like Kobe. Would he be hated, nobody cares or what?

they wouldn't say the player is copying kobe, they'd say he's copying jordan...just like kobe did.

I doubt as many people would care..Kobe probably has the biggest love/hate reaction from fans I've ever seen..

but just responding to the title of the thread..if someone copied Jordan, they would probably go broke from gambling the family life savings..if they copied Kobe, they'd get 15 years in prison..

Who the hell cares? Kobe didn't copy Jordan. He studied his game because he wanted/wants to be the GOAT. He didn't do it to make Jordan look bad, he did it to be the best. There is nothing wrong with that mentallity IMO. The word copy makes it sound so bad.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with what Kobe did. If anything he did what other players (like Carter) should have done. Learn and study from the GOAT.

You know what? This is a reasonable post.

Kobe catches flak for it but he shouldn't; he took a guy who was widely hailed as the best off-guard in league history, the only guy to lead the league in scoring and win titles (at the time) and he was you're all-around guy.

Kobe saw something that worked really well and patterned his game after it. He took more advantage of the three and did some other things his own way too, so it wasn't like he was some inferior Jordan clone or anything.

I think what Kobe did was, if anything, more of a tribute to Jordan's excellence than anything else. I still opine that MJ was a lot better than Kobe for various reasons but I think it's intimately respectful of him to have done what he did, since he displayed respect for what Jordan achieved playing as he did.

That's not a bad thing.

Oj Mayo is obviously a Kobe wannabe, doubt he can impersonate him as well as Kobe did with Mj though

If Kobe were really trying to copy Jordan, he'd be spending more time on the block.

They're different players - Kobe more of a true SG, Jordan more of a SG with a SF's offensive game - and would probably play well together. Let Kobe create his own legacy.

While we're stuck in the '90s, does KG become Hakeem and Duncan become the Admiral?

Other way around, I think; D-Rob liked the outside game ala Garnett more and Hakeem was more low-block ala Duncan.

dude they are not different players. just watch kobe's mannerisms, handle, shot and dunk/layups they are mirror images of jordan. stop trying to break it down intellectually. even an idiot can see it......

and to answer the question the player would be copying jordan if kobe copied jordan. why would u label someone a copier of a copier?

The better question is, if you are a wing player in the NBA, why WOULDN'T you copy Jordan?
