who the hell is rasheed wallace to say if a team has any real big men, the only real big detroit has is jason maxiell. real big men play down low block shots, rebound and finish around the basket, last tim i checked neither antonio or rashweed do that, they are both jump shooters with average defense at best and subpar rebounders, if this was coming from duncan or garnett i understand but sheed plays the same modern big man style so he should shut the hell up

You've really never seen Sheed' actually focused.

He bangs down there with his kaboose and has great post moves. He is just less interested to do that these days and likes the spot up three better.

Antonio also has post moves but if he is open in the mid range, he will take the shot as he can make it. If he has to he will finish around the basket.

You've never watched them play have you? When Rasheed wants to, he's down there making plays offensively and defensivly. He's a great shot blocker and one of the best man to man defenders in league down low.

The funny thing is that Dirk plays in the post more than Sheed does :=|... The Hot Spots on NBA.com bare this out too...

Dirk probably does play in the post more than Sheed'.

But when Sheed' does it when he wants to and does it with the best in the league. I can't imagine Dirk being to effective in there.

He has great footwork and its a shame he doesn't play in there more often.

Yeah Sheed is better in the post but he doesn't play down there nearly enough he's more content to chuck up ill-advised 3's, Dirk on the other hand has seemed to cut the 3-point shot out of his game this year o_O...

I always knew Sheed subscribes to Bear magazine.

sheed has never really seen sheed focus, sure he is a waste of talent like lamar odom but a great shot blocker hes not 1.5 a game and if he is a beast down low why cant any coach convince him to play down there, after all hes shooting 43% from the field for the season

Lol its Rasheed Wallace, no coach is gonna tame that crazy guy. Rasheed has the talent to be one of best in the game, but just doesn't use it. He has the mind set being content playing a sidekick role and dominates the game when he feels its necessary. Theres a reason the title hopes of the pistons always rest on Sheed's shoulder. If he's playing his best, the Pistons are nearly unbeatable, the only problem is, he rarely plays his best.

And he is a great defender, and a decent shot blocker. Stats don't tell the whole story. When Sheed is on his game, there aren't a lot better at forcing the offense to alter their shot then Sheed is. He just doesn't have the vertical jump like a Camby or an Olajuwan to rack up the block stats, but don't make any mistakes, he is a good shot blocker.

Sheed picks his spots to be dominant....and on his game he's as good as any big man in this L eg: going toe-to-toe vs Duncan in a W earlier this season.

I would love to see him locked up in the post, he's excellent down there and his high release makes him pretty much unblockable. Still, i love what Sheed offers and wouldn't trade him for anyone not named Duncan or KG.

Rasheed's ability to know when to shut his mouth comes and goes. He did his "i guarantee victory" things against the Cavs in 06 and it bit him in the ass. Hopefully this bites him in the ass today.

He did however know better than to try to guarantee victory against the Spurs in 05 though. Maybe he knew he was going to lose that series.

Come on now, you know you'd take Dwight in a heart beat for Rasheed.

Dallas has real big men.

Diop's a defensive role-player, Dampier he covered, who is also a defensive role-player, and obviously he doesn't know about Brandon Bass. He's undersized, but strong, athletic, quite mobile, and has an effective offensive game. Tough, too. Bass is in the mold of a Maxiell/Millsap.

Only way Sheed's right would be with Dirk, who isn't a traditional-style big man, and they have no impactful interior offensive big man.

I think this was a suttle shot, hype-up to Dirk more than anything, by Sheed.
