As you have noticed the west is packed this year with competition. A team losing one or two can drop 4 seeds or even more in this tight west. But many predict that the record in west will stabilize after teams face each other.

Does anybody know how many games western teams have with eastern teams for the remainder of the season? (im too lazy to check)

How many of those are against Boston, Detroit, or Orlando? Those three are equal to about an eighth seed in the West.

I can answer for the Hornets. They have yet to play Boston (haven't met them yet this season) and both Detroit and Orlando once more.

So out of 17 games (tied for the most against the East remaining), they play good teams 4 times.

We were 1-1 against Orlando and Detroit.

West at home vs West: 133-76 or 63.6%
West at home vs East: 90-53 or 62.9%

or looking at it another way....

East on the road vs West: 53-90 or 37.1%
West on the road vs West: 76-133 36.4%

THe Western Conference teams have a higher win percentage at home when playing against other western conference teams....although not by much...

Also, Eastern conference teams fair better on the road against the Western conference teams than the West does when it plays on the road against other west teams....
