Moons Dunk - Generating hype or do you think its possible?

Post#1 » by Quiet-Storm » Mon Feb 4, 2008 9:40 am

Watch the last dunk. Joey points the camera down on purpose obviously. But watch where moon takes off from for that dunk.

Whenever Jordan did that dunk his toe was always on the line. Ive seen many players do that free throw line dunk and all of them always have at least one foot very very close to the line.

But Moon takes off very far behind the line at about a foot behind the free throw line. Not sure what to make of it. Most people don't like to hype themselves up only to dissapoint in competition. In fact the opposite is true. They like to downplay what they have so that you are really surprised when something spectacular is pulled.

Is it possible or is he messing around? (Like when Josh smith put that piece of tape on the ground behind the free throw line and all the announcers went nuts "HES GOING TO TAKE OF FROM THERE!", then josh just ran past it lol)

Watch his reflection on the court as he jumps. You can even faintly see the reflection of the rim's mesh flutter as the ball goes through.

From the looks of it, he does it. You can almost see it in the reflection of the court. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he could do it. I mean the guy used to be a freaking globetrotter.

That's incredibly far if accurate. Josh smith's ft line dunk the year he won, his foot was in front of the line.

Thats what im saying. You will be hard-pressed to find a free throw dunk where the players foot is cleanly behind the line. In that video moon takes off an entire foot behind the line.

Clearly that was CG. Or he just didn't actually make the dunk.

Still a cool ad.

Evidence? You cant just throw words like "clearly" around whilst passing off your opinions as fact. You gotta back up your statements with reasoning.

Pretty damn certain he did it, or he was at least capable of getting it done because he does take off and his reflection carries all the way to the point where it seems like he dunks it.
I love Dwight, but if he doesn't bring his sh*t, Jamario Moon may take it. I'm not expecting too much from Green or Rudy.

That was insane, he took off a full step outside the line, nobody has ever gone from that far, not even Jordan. If he pulls that off it's going to be mind blowing.

Yeah, how did they prove that? It seems doubtful that they could prove that it was physically impossible.

Looks from the shadow that he didn't come close to making it and that they just added in the rim sound effects.
