Which team is screwed harder?

Miami's stuck with Shaq's contract, SERIOUSLY declining skills & constant injury problems for the next 3 (I think) years. They really have no legitimate talent on that team after Wade.
New Jersey's not in a good situation either, but in my eyes it's even close.

I guess its a different situation. Miami has a championship to show for its current misfortune which has to count for something. Miami also has Wade who is a franchise cornerstone that has a title under his belt which NJ doesn't. NJ is also going to move to Brooklyn soon which will help but currently has a pretty unsupportive fan base.
On the other hand Miami is such a disaster right now its hard to say any other team could be in a worse situation.

Miami is stuck with Shaq's horrible contract, and a bunch of scrubs with very low trade value. NJ is in a bad position too, but they at least have some pretty tradeable guys in the big 3. I'm sure they could trade Kidd and VC for some decent talent to go with RJ. Also, as poor as the Nets season has been so far, they're still the #8 seed in the EC.
I don't count Miami's championship in this argument because I think it's irrelevant to the discussion. The Rockets won back to back titles 14 years ago, but if we end the season on a disappointing note again then I won't hang my hat on the Olajuwon days, ya know?

Miami is in a much better position IMO. They have Dwayne Wade who's young and still has a lot of elite years left. Miami is going to have a very high lottery pick this year whereas New Jersey is either going to barely make the playoffs or have a very low lottery pick. Lastly, Miami is going to have some cap space this summer to work with.

Between Miami & New Jersey, Miami is in worse shape.

Miami by a considerable amount.

New Jersey.
The Heat have Wade, a top-3 pick on the way, and a ton of capspace in the near future. The Nets have Carter's miserable contract, a washed up Jason Kidd, and an inconsistent Richard Jefferson.

miami in worse shape right now.. but have brighter future with atleast having wade and just have to wait till all those old veterans contract expires to have enough money to sign a big free agent who would probably love to play with wade... NJ is in trouble unless they start trading carter, kidd, collins for younger prospects.

Miami already has a building block in Wade. They are also in prime position to get a solid player in next year's draft, and if they can hit on that draft pick, he and Wade are a tandem for years to come.
Now Shaq, he can still be effective in the middle, as long as he isn't counted on being the 1st or 2nd option on this team.
If Miami can get 1 more player to put alongside Shaq/Wade/Rookie, they should be fine. In addition, they need to address the shooting on this team, as well. -- Because, Wade is driving into the lane and not finding anyone to pass it to for an open look, as there is NO ONE on this team who can nail a shot from deep.

MIAMI is horrible I'm sorry I think NJ has a better future they have been rebuilding over the years i think we got some nice young talent and at least were in the playoffs probably gonna move up 2

New Jersey can rebuild if they want to because they can easily trade the big 3 for some decent returns.
Miami has Shaq whom you can't move. No one is going to want to take Shaq unless he's expiring. The only way the Heat can get out of it is if they get a top 3 pick and everyone gets healthy next year plus improvements in their young players.

New Jersey until we can see what Thorn gets for Kidd and/or Carter. Right now they don't have a player to build around, they don't have any high picks coming their way unless they tank hard the rest of this season.
Miami has Dwyane Wade, they should get at least a top 5 pick next draft and will wait it out until Shaq's contract is off the books. At least they have some pieces in place for the future.
New Jersey has some serious moves to make before we can really see where they'll stand.
