The Shaq/Marion Trade *Official Thread*

IT IS NOT A DONE DEAL YET, BUT SOURCES SAY IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY TO HAPPEN ON WEDNESDAY....
on a personal note, i think this was a "desparate" move by the suns, simply to counter the Pau Gasol trade, and be able to compete with the Spurs, Lakers, Hornets, etc.
its a high risk, high reward situation, however, if the risk flops...the suns basically let Marion walk for a situational player.
Shaquille is still a legit 14/8 player, and can make the suns immediate favorites to win...but the thing to remember is that the suns are a "run n gun" type of team, and Marion was one of the most vital assets of that type of play.
The addition of Shaq will not only slow their game down, but D'Antoni may make a humungous mistake by suddenly switching into a half-court offensive system at midseason..that is simply a risk..
ON THE FLIP SIDE...
the Heat just got rid of one of the worst contracts in the NBA...paying Shaq 20mil a year is just about the same thing as paying Brad Miller 20mil a year...imagine that...
Wade, Marion, Davis, etc have a great chance of making a run in the east...i personally think the HEAT got the better of the deal......
thoughts?
