best: derek fisher
a subtle move for the lakers. he has paid big dividends with big shots this year.
worst: rashard lewis
lol. 20 million dollars a year for a guy who just got his three blocked in the waning seconds of tonight's game against the lakers. then took a running floater (which he missed) instead of a three the next trip down the court with 5 seconds left when the magic were down by multiple possessions.
aside from that, his averages on the season: 18 points and 5 rebounds.
lol.
your picks?

Chucky Atkins has got to be one of the worst, but that's mainly due to the fact that hes been injured all year. It wasn't the greatest signing in the first place, but the Nuggets did need his shooting and the price tag wasn't too bad.....but he missed the first two months with a groin strain, came back for a few games (and sucked), and then ended up having to have surgery for a sports hernia and is out another two months or so.

Steve Francis has to be among the worst.

Steve Francis was a horrible pickup.

Jamaal Magloire wasn't a good pickup either , has to be among the worst .
Smush Parker also gets a nod .
Grant Hill was a great pickup , suprisingly Brandon Bass also was a good one
. I also like Joe Smith at the Bulls this year .

Grant Hill was a good pick up, also agree with Derek Fisher, who I love watching.
I still think the MLE for 4 years was too much for Kapono, but he's still a deadly shooter.

Desmond Mason was signed for "chemistry" and being a "good guy" and well, he sucks and we don't have any chemistry. But he's a good guy though.

I wouldnt say it's one of the worst because at the end of the day you have a valueable expiring...

That's the only positive about it playerwise it was a very bad pickup , i really doubt he'll see the floor again .
Ok maybe your right at least he'd be gone soon .

Out of the pickups that haven't been mentioned, Jamario Moon and Beno Udrih are pretty awesome. If Navarro is considered as a pickup as well, then he is pretty nice as well.
Moon is the one Raptor wing who actually does something thats not shooting and compliments the team well with his energy and athleticism. Udrih basically was the savior of the Kings during the duration that Bibby was out. If he weren't there, they may have had the worst record. Navarro is a very good shooter and if given the minutes, could potentially be the leader of three pointers made in a season in the future. He currently averages 2 three pointers made per game in 25 mpg.
A bad pickups that wasn't mentioned so far is Milicic. He is way out of shape and is just absolutely terrible. I can't believe any team would give him such a large contract.
edit:by the way, this is my first post. nice to meet you all.

W/o Grant Hill, the Suns would be completely screwed now that they've traded Marion.

Darko has played better as of late, I think now is when we finally get to see whether or not he's a complete bust since he's no longer playing in the shadow of any other big man.

Ricky Davis and Mark Blount come to mind.
Not sure about Francis - did Houston give anything up for him?

Francis has to be up there, he was expected to compete for the starting position and add another dimension to the team while being more controlled in the offense but he hasn't played well and is not out for the season with a surgery on his already bothersome knee.
I wouldn't say it's the worst though considering he's only signed for one more year (which is a player option) and only at around 2 million dollars.

Joe Smith for the MLE
