Western Conference Seeding and Matchup Discussions

Yes yes, the West is crazy. We already know that from the 1,000 posts about it every day. So let's gather all the craziness and put it in this thread.
Discuss about seedings and match ups in the Western Conference.
Personally, I feel like seeding doesn't matter as much this year because NO TEAM from 1-8 can be guaranteed to get out of the first round like last year.
For example, imagine this format:
1.Mavs
2.Spurs
3.Suns
4.Jazz
5.Hornets
6.Lakers
7.Rockets
8.Warriors
Mavs vs Warriors, Rockets vs Spurs, Lakers vs Suns. There are no favorites to win the first round in my opinion. The Warriors give the Mavs hell. The Rockets probably match up with the Spurs better than any other team in the West. The Lakers have played the Suns well and with the addition of Pau, it might just put them over the top.
Hell, who knows what the Nuggets might to do the Suns now that there won't be a Marion guarding Melo and Nash simply cannot guard AI.
To me, all top 8 teams in the playoffs will have a decent chance of getting to the second round.
When they say that the West is wide open, it isn't just the regular season, it is the playoffs also.

It would be great to see that, and hornets, lakers, rockets and warriors in the second round, i would give all my money for that.

No denver in the playoffs?, there only one game back from the division lead and are currently sitting at the 7 seed, it's good to fly under the radar a bit. It is crazy how competitive the west this year is, no team is a lock that's for sure.

I didn't predict who's going to be in the playoffs. I just imagined what the match ups might be and tried to prove my point that it is going to be crazy no matter who's going to be in it.

I think seeding matters more this year than any year because homecourt advantage is most important when there isn't much parity. That's why the team with the best seed has an advantage in the conference finals and the finals. Getting off to a good start and having a game 7 at home is crucial.
I see the seeding going like this:
1) NO
2) Lakers
3) Suns
4) Utah (division winner)
5) Dallas
6) San Antonio
7) Denver
Houston
I don't think Golden State or Portland is going to make the playoffs.
If this is how the seeding goes, I think the following teams make it to the second round:
Houston
Lakers
San Antonio
Utah
I think Utah beats Houston and I think the Lakers beat San Antonio.
I think the Lakers will beat Utah in the Conference finals.

Ok i got your point, but lately denver is getting a little underrated, they had there struggle and injury but usually have a strong second half, so i wouldn't be surprised if denver win their division.

Wow what a prediction from you, new orleans with the best record out west?, i doubt they'll be top 2 by season end let alone the top seed. Utah is playing ver well lately but i doubt they'll be back in the conference finals again IMO.

One of the reason people tend to underrate Nuggets is their poor away records (9-13) and they have played much fewer away games as compared to other PO contending teams.
By the way, Jazz played 27 away games, Nuggets played 22 away games, Warriors played 26 away games, Houston played 27 away games, Blazers played 24 aways games. Both Rockets and Warriors have winning away records.

I would really, really love to play the Warriors in the 1st round, Spurs in the 2ns and whoever in the WCF.
And Devner is an AI for Kidd trade away from being one of the favorites to make it out of the West as I think Kidd can make JR, Camby, Martin and Camby all better + more oppertunity for others by having AI take less shots.

andre miller has been balling.. i wonder if some denver fans regret that trade... i bet andre miller + nene for jason kidd would have done it for the nets...
