16-0 Against the West

The Celtics are currently 16-0 against Western conference foes this season, so it got me thinking what is the best record a team has had against an opposing conference. It would be quite ironic if an Eastern conference team could compile one of the best out of conference records in a year where the Western conference is on a record setting pace.

Yeah, pretty impressive too. They seem to do well against Western team.
But how many games of them are away though?

Five of them were away games.

Anyone have the answer for this?

I know there used to be fewer teams, so Boston really could end up with the most wins ever against the opposing conference.

28-2 would probably give them the most wins against an opposing conference in a single season.

Damn these are the only road games they played, wow but they have a ton coming up after the asg 5 game road trip out west to Den, GS, Pho, Por and LA. They also have a lot of games out west in March.

Let me know when they play a top western team on the road.

First it's "Face a top team in the west" , then it's "Face a Texas team", now it's play them on the road.

Next, it's going to be "Play the Western conference all-stars", then it will be "Play Nash, Kobe, Lebron, Bosh and Howard."

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Bulls with the best opposing conference record. When they won 72, and then 69, the West was in a down period. Can't say for certain though.

Looks like the most win's against the opposing conference is 27.

Bulls were 27-3 against the West in their 72 win season.

That's 90%.... Not sure if another team had a higher winning %

Hate to compliment the state of Michigan, but I'd rather face Spurs/Suns/Lakers/Mavs than the Pistons in a 7 Gamer any day. The West is good but the Celtics are better.

no you mean they kicked their **** twice.

that second game, the lakers just gave up - right until they were down by 20 and lamar had enough and went michael strahan on ray allen.

what a smart dude he is.

they killed denver as well, so much so, that in the middle of the game, Allen Iverson was complaining for it all to stop.

Well LA is the only western city that gets the privilege of seeing the Celtics twice. I should have been clearer and said @ LAC.

I know, I was going to say "Play the All-NBA first team", but decided just to name players.

I was hoping nobody would catch that so I could look cool. 8)
