Latrell Sprewell

Post#1 » by DFO » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:15 pm

I was just on ESPN.com and they are reporting that the bank sold off Latrell's yacht for failure to make payments. They are also reporting that his modest home ($400,000 in value) could be foreclosed for the same reason.

I checked out basketballreference.com which showed that he made $96 million over the course of his career.

I know the government takes a sizeable portion of each paycheck but c'mon, how does this happen?

Bet he wishes he hadn't turned down the Wolves 3 year $21 million offer. He really might have to start wondering how he's gonna feed his family.

This is why ignorant people can't have nice things. He assumed he'd always have more money, but now he has no career, and no money.

Sucks for him, but it's kinda his fault anyway.

wow wow wow!

shaq better watch out, with his property taxes, ex wife, many homes etc.

they say a lot of dudes go broke after finishing their career in the nba, but guys that make over 90 million in their career are unexpected!

sad. i think he has lot of kids too. i wonder why he retired so early.

i wonder if he has an ex wife and if she pulled what micahel strahan's wife pulled.

maybe KG can bail him out.

If he can't even pay off his boat, how is he going to feed his family?

Child support, paying off groupies, too many hanger-ons, not a surprise.

90 million is still very hard to lose.

Honestly... how hard is it to put what... 8 to 9 million dollars in a career in which you made 90 plus million dollars in a money market fund and then live off the interest?

Tragic, but not sad.

Surprising, but not unexpected.

Let's all pop open a can of Milwaukee's Best, in Latrell's honor.
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Will Spree hoop for food?
After all, he needs to feed his children.
