Whats up with all this uproar about the Lakers

I real don't undertsand whats all the fuss about the Lakers snagging Gasol. On top of that why is Pop and Cuban so up set about this trade. History has repeated it self time and time again and you can look it up as well. We always get our big man(or men in this case). we go trough a bad spell for a while but then we regain our status again. I felt that with the coments that Pop and Cuban made, they just feel threatened because the Lakers just jump into their top three and made it a top four. Cuban know that were ahead of Dallas when Bynum comes back, not to say that were not on the same level with them without Bynum. Pop Know thatthe Spurs will have to see us before they even try to leave this conference to make it to the finals and that we will push them to the limit. The Suns made that trade just to compeat with us, being the weaker of the big three and not wanting to face any of us(Spurs, lakers, or Mavericks) they made the trade for O'Neal. They made that trade just to have somebody to throw in the middle.
George Mikan
Wilt Chamberlain
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Shaquille O'Neal
Andrew Bynum
Pau Gasol

As the #1 option. He isn't the #1 option anymore so I expect different results.

Huge difference between those average at best Memphis teams and the 08 Lakers.
He's never had the best player in the league on the floor with him.

lets not pretend odom is a real threat in the playoffs.
once he figures out how to make a layup, then we can talk.
that team still has confidence issues when kobe isn't on the floor, and pau really doesn't instill confidence in players around him like you want your big man to.
to say they are the favourite to win it all is a bit premature. lets wait till bynum is back and in shape first.

the best player in the league plays for the Cavs.
When all is said and done, kobe will be juust a footnote compared to James, just like Drexler is to Jordan.

Odom not a threat in the playoffs? I sure hope teams foolishly think that.
