Is Portland done?

They are 6-10 over the past month, they are only 5 games over .500 which is significantly lower then the 8th place team in the West and now teams have finally started taking them seriously.

Is this team done for the season or do they still have a playoff run in them?

It's hard to tell. They could make one of those 13 game winning streaks again.

Probably. But would anyone outside of Oregon had picked them to be 6 games over .500 at this point?

They've got it made in the shade for years to come, pending more injury.

I thought they were done when they were 5-12 to be honest.

Portland= pretenders

They are much better off not making the playoffs and potentially getting a high draft pick.

They need Oden.

They're in a good position. They'll have a lot of confidence going into next year, Oden and a late lotto pick to help them out. Their future looks great. They're about what Atlanta should be. A good GM does wonders.

Not saying Atlanta doesn't look good for the future, just not as good as it could.

Do you think the Kings gonna past them?

It is quite possible that they have hit a wall recently, and will be out of the true playoff picture in a month or so. That being said, they are still a talented enough team, that they can compete with any team in the league, on any given night, and still build up confidence towards next year.

A great future though, since they would be a playoff team in most normal years out west. This year is just too rough for a team that really has no experience playing down the stretch, fighting for a playoff spot.

Probably not.

Eh, the Kings are 8 of the last 12...They should be easily 10 in the last 12... (Sonics/Warriors game)

IF the Blazers are free falling like this continuously and the Kings are getting hot like this...IMO the Kings will catch them and be ahead...

It's hard to say who's in and who's out. There's still about 30 games per team in the season, and anything can happen during that stretch. The competition in the West might be at its best ever.

They got a lot of attention b/c of their win streak but I don't think many knowledgable people had them ranked above the 9 teams ahead of them right now. Their margin of victory throughout the season showed they have overachieved all year.

And teams are starting to take them seriously and that spelled trouble for POR b/c they rely almost entirely on Roy's PnR's. If teams trap it and get the ball out of Roy's hands they struggle. Given their youth they are not a fast break team either which further compounds their offensive struggles.

That said they aren't as bad as they have been the past couple games b/c they have people out. Roy for 2 games and James Jones for a couple weeks now too. Although they could've tanked it for a higher lotto pick I think it's better for the team long-term to build that chemistry and confidence this year and they'll be a force in the years to come.

yes. the kings are only 3 losses behind them, are finally healthy, and are playing great ball.

Once they got into some road games they were doomed. The fact that Steve Blake and James Jones aren't shooting 55%+ from the 3 point line, as they did during the streak, hurts them a lot too.

They're done.

They wont make the playoffs, and I say that as a Blazer fan.

Still, if they finish with around 40 wins, the season was a great success and suprise.

Its easy to get caught up in a sense of euphoria when a team already hailed to be a great squad in 2-3 seasons starts winning consistently without the most hyped player since LeBron.

They are done, but paradoxially are only warming up.

The negative karma of snubbing Baron is quickly going back to haunt the Blazers.

Oh yes, I'm the great pretender
Pretending that I'm doing well
My need is such; I pretend too much
I'm lonely but no one can tell.

Oh yes, I'm the great pretender
A drift in a world of my own
I play the game; but to my real shame
You've let me to dream all alone.

Too real is this feeling of make believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can't conceal.

Oh yes I'm the great pretender
Just laughing and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I'm not; you see
I'm wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that you're still around.

Too real is this feeling of make believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can't conceal

if they were in the east they would be like the -4th seed apparently since the West is so much better than the East. Someone should make yet another thread on this forum about how it is unfair that Portland won't make the playoffs but that they would be like the 3rd seed or whatever in the East.

fans of the east should just keep responding with plot spoilers of your favorite TV shows since people in the West need to wait to watch them since they don't air live.

The west is flat out tough this year. I'm not writing off any team. Well..except Memphis.
