and welcome to no more smush parker (worst PG in the league) for lakers... no more brian cook.... no more kwame brown...
basically lakers got rid of all their scrubs and got ariza (great defender), fisher (great leader and decent pg), and pau gasol (2006 allstar)... yea... this is the same lakers that lost to suns... *sarcasm off*
Who's better? LA, Dallas, Phx?

Yet the Suns have beaten the Lakers in the playoffs the last two years, very handily last year, and now everyone thinks they are better. Stupid reasoning.
Lakers would of been and were better as a team than the Suns without Gasol. More balanced, deeper, bigger, more diverse, and more experienced, compared to years past. I'd say that was pretty evident from those first two games, before Bynum went out.
Now with Gasol? And Bynum coming back? Just that much more.

Key players like bynum and farmar have improved dramatically for the lakers... all the while doing trades to get rid of scrubs for great role players and 2nd options... there is no question that this is a different lakers team... i dont know why people are so hung up on who is the defending champs... not many defending champs repeat championships every season... that's why when there is a 2 peat they make such a big deal about it... and 3 peat even more.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker
Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

The Lakers are the team to beat. Kobe and Gasol are one of the best one-two punches in the league. Add Bynum who was doing very well before the injury,Fisher the clutch vet and a rejuvenated Odom because he doesn't have to do much now(4th or 3rd option). Then you mix all that up with Phil Jackson, the best coach in the league that can put lot of good talent together(MJ+Pippen, Kobe+Shaq). Lakers look the most scariest.

I think the Lakers are a bit overrated. Well not yet, but when Bynum comes back we're gonna have problems with LO in the starting lineup. Right now we have a shooter (Vlad) starting at the three and without that floor spacing it's gonna be hard to get the offense moving smoothly.
Unless Odom comes off the bench or starts to knock down open jumpers with extreme regularity then we won't be as good as people think we will be.
Personally, I'd like Bynum to come off the bench. That way it's just like early this season when he wasn't starting and our bench would blow teams out when they came in.
