First Shard turns it down, and now Kobe's out... mark me down as uninterested.

personally someone else should have gotten it...Dirk is still a great 3-point shooter, I guess that I am now even more confused as to how they do actually pick the contestants...if it's not based on this seasons play...

would've rather seen one of these guys replace kobe (mind you the kobe/rip subpolot had me really intrigued on top of kapono/peja/nash)

ray allen
jason richardson
juan carlos navarro
manu ginobili

why pick dirk when hes shooting only close to 30% from downtown this yr?

Would have been nice if the second-leading three-point shooter in the league got an invite to the contest...

EDIT: Oops, I guess Anthony Parker's "only" 5th now, at 47.4% but he was second at the time of the selections.

Other than winning it in 2006 and being a significant name, I don't get why Dirk gets the spot because of his 3PT shooting situation this season. How about Ray Allen?

It was actually more the Heat's defense for his lesser play than himself choking. It wasn't a large amount of times where he choked in the series. Over the series, the Heat contained him as a team, not Dirk containing himself with him feeling the pressure.

With the Warriors, Dirk's choking was there a bunch more, and of course, as well as the Warriors defense. It was more equal.

Why doesn't the league let the fans vote. After all the NBA is entertainment and we do live in a democracy so.... why not vote on it? :o

Stern needs to be replaced
Green 17.
