Greg P on LA/Grizz trade...

Post#1 » by HeatFanSince87 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 2:38 am

Not sure if this has been discussed, if so I apologize. I have nothing ill willed to say about either team and respect GP for what he has done with the Spurs, but why in GOD's name does he feel its ok to rip a trade that was done and say it should have been vetoed? Teams every year make moves based on when and were they are going. Memphis is rebuilding and wanted cap space...yes, on the surface the Lakers robbed them however the Grizz got what they wanted. 11 million in cap space freed up this summer, 2 first rounders and the Lakers first round pick his season as well! This is not a bad deal for a team rebuilding...

How was it any different then the Hawks in 2004 basically giving Sheed to the Pistons ? It helped ATL I believe get a first round pick...however it wasnt a "fair" trade. We see thing with players forcing buyouts, soley to get to one team...

If we didnt get Marion for Shaq, it wouldnt have been a surprised that we traded him away to a team for just crappy players and expiring deals..and I see nothing wrong with that. Teams have to do what they have to do...weather its go for a ring or rebuild..

If they use some of that cap space this summer to add say an Elton Brand(just being hypothetical) and one of those picks becomes a starter for them, and Crittington becomes a solid player for them as well? Will GP change his comes opionion?

Nothing but good luck to both teams...

It has been discussed in it's own thread actually.
