Remember the three 3's?

Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, and Steve Francis...

Such a young crew of do it all PG's with so much promise about 10 years ago... Then in a FLASH! they're gone.

Anybody know what happened?

Allen Iverson gone? How dare you put him in that category. Iverson is still one of the best players in the league.

yea Iverson's not gone, he's just not in the media as much anymore. Combination of new blood and him staying out of trouble. As for Francis and Starbury, I think people just got tired of their show-boating selfishness.

How dare you rank Iverson with Marbury and Francis. Iverson hasn't lost a single step.

Iverson is the most talented player to ever play in the NBA...if he was 6 foot 3 instead of whatever height they pretend he is, he would be the greatest player of all-time.

how dare you group him with two horrible players

1) who is only famous because he could dunk and would chuck up shots

2) who is only famous for being selfish and saying stupid quotes...some highlights being

*him saying a team is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) for picking AI over him and he is disrespected for not being the #1 pick
*him saying the knicks will never win a championship unless they have a PG of his caliber (he said this and then later proved that both charlie ward and chris childs are better PG than him)
*we got a lefty southpaw
*my signature
* i'm a max player, just look at my contract
*i'm the best PG in the league
* admitting he makes interns at MSG have sex with him in his car

being the only player i have ever seen that makes getting 8 apg somehow be selfish.

I think it's cos they were really, really, really offended by the (current) comparisons of A.I. to Starbury and Franchise.

lol to be honest I don't even know why I said "How dare you" because I wasn't really offended but rather laughing at the thought of Iverson being done and grouped with Marbury and Francis.

The point of the original post was how back in the day, Iverson, Marbury and Francis were viewed as three high potential point guards, and coincidentally they all wore number three.

We have the same thing today.

He wasn't trying to say that Marb and Francis turned out to be as good as AI, or that AI is done.
We have met the enemy, and he is us.

Marbury and Francis were pretty sick back in the day.
