SLAM Dunk vs. a regular dunk

Post#1 » by Storm Surge » Sun Feb 17, 2008 5:15 am

A Slam Dunk implies hitting something, the definition of slam in the dictionary suggests noise and striking something.

Thus, slam dunk = hitting or striking the rim while thrusting the ball through the hoop

A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both of his hands.
