This is how I think the Conference Standings will look at the end of the season.

East

1. Pistons
2. Celtics
3. Magic
4. Cavaliers
5. Raptors
6. Hawks
7. Nets
8. Bulls
9. Pacers
10. Wizards
11. 76ers
12. Bucks
13. Bobcats
14. Knicks
15. Heat

West

1. Suns
2. Lakers
3. Hornets
4. Mavericks
5. Spurs
6. Jazz
7. Warriors
8. Rockets
9. Nuggets
10. Blazers
11. Kings
12. Grizzlies
13. Sonics
14. Clippers
15. Timberwolves

I seriously doubt Detroit overtakes Boston.

Lakers won't finish number 2 this year. 4th or 5th. Next year will be their year.

I also doubt the Wizards will fall off that bad

The Raps have the lightest post-All Star sked in the league as they had the hardest sked pre-All-Star. They have a shot at home court.

1. Celtics will maintain best record.

2. Jazz will be higher than 6th. C'mon now.

3. No way do the suns maintain best record in the west. They don't even care about being the #1 seed and will rest their vets for the playoff run.

Wrong. Magic have softest schedule in the second half, mostly because we have no road games left against the West.

You need to include someone from the northwest division in the top 4. As division winner they automatically get a top seeded spot.

1. Kevin Garnett is coming back from injury... the Pistons are already very close to them and are the hottest team in the NBA right now. They always heat up after the all-star break.

2. what makes u think the jazz will be higher than 6th? They are 6th right now! Spurs, Suns, Lakers, Hornets, and Mavs have better records

3. Nash+Amare+Shaq= #1 seed

I was not listings seeds. I was listing standings by W-L record

I think those are very realistic predictions. Boston might retain the top spot, the Wizards may finish higher than the Pacers and the Clippers may finish higher than Seattle. Nevertheless, I highly agree with those predictions.

Looking at the schedules Detroit has played 4 more road games than Boston. Detroit has a 4 game west coast trip while Boston has two five game road trips, one out west and the other includes the Texas triangle.

I wouldn't be surprised if the best record in the east isn't determined until the very end of the season.

Suns #1?

Have you seen the second half of their schedule?

And thats w/o considering that:

A. Its gonna take time to adjust to a different playing style, and new personel. Especially since they will now have to go into a half court offense, which they arent really accustomed to.

B. Shaq always misses time in the regular season. He's already missed time with the Heat, and has had to sit a few games with the Suns because of that same injury.

C. I think there gonna miss Marion more than people would lead us to believe. They're now 3-2 without him, but they had a 4 point win against the lowly Sonics, and a 1 point win agaisnt the Wizards. Oh, and both those games were at home.

IMO New Orleans will not be #1, they will fall off to #6. The rockets wont make it if one of their key guys gets hurt, but if they dont have any injuries there is no way they WONT make it.
