Understanding a Kobe fan

Post#1 » by Hood President » Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:45 pm

stole this from another website and found it interesting

This is a long Post:

There is a reason why Kobe Bryant fans constantly have to prove and post about kobe doing something great everday.

Most Kobe Fans Unaminously agree, that he'll not be able to match Jordan's legacy or ability.

And that's a huge reason why kobe goes under so much heat. Is he is constantly compared to MJ, even though kobe says himself he doesn't want to be compared. But he is constantly criticized for not being able to match what jordan did. I think people just need to lower their expectations of the guy first most. There might be small similarities you can see in their games, but if you watch kobe. There are more differences than similarities in their respective styles. You just see small flashes of jordan in kobe and thats it, the rest of kobe's style is totally his own.

With the MJ criticism on Kobe, it further magnifies kobe's offcourt problems that probably most nba starts do or commit to as well. Kobe takes more heat for his action than any other nba player. Kobe is considered a rapist, but if you look at what he did it was just infidelity. Which 60% of married couples comit in the U.S. There is no evidence that supports he raped. That is why he came out of the trial clean. Yet people constantly bring it up. Why? because it's kobe bryant and he takes more heat.

People just don't find Kobe likeable, probably that comes off as because of jordan's legacy. Remember Iverson demanding a trade, VC demanding a trade, Tmac demanding a trade? Kobe does the same thing, and he takes far more heat than any three of those players combined.

When Kobe had his 62 point game or 81 point game, people criticize him for taking too many shots. Are you kidding me? Wilt Chamberlain took 63 shots in his 100 point game, and he takes no heat what so ever from it. But Kobe does?

I know one event on its own, doesnt make him bad, but with all these things put together makes Kobe one of the most hateable players in the NBA. It's far more unfair to kobe, and his fans. A small problem from kobe is magnified enormously. Just because it's kobe, if any other player did what kobe did in the nba, they would get by easily. Kobe gets crucified for it.

Kobe fans are quick to defend kobe, is because they feel no one appreciates what kobe does, and people pay attention more to what kobe does wrong than right. Kobe is just not likeable to many people for whatever reason. When there more posted hatred for bryant, fuels more bryant fans to post more about their hero.

Kobe fans can't rest, until basketball fans alike can give kobe true appreciation for what he's done in the game, that most haven't. It's just infuriating to kobe fans, that people constantly attack his legacy more than any other player in the league.

It's like a yin and yang effect. Kobe gets more praise from his fans than other players fan is because theres more hatred for kobe than any other player from their non fans.

I mean wouldn't it tick you off if your favorite player on your favorite team, who's also considered one of the best, is constantly bombarded with controversy that's really undeserved. Or that no one cares about what he does good, but they're only concerned for what is wrong with him. So no one ever sees what good the guy did, only whats bad. With all these attacks, You'd probably take defense to that because it's not fair or justifiable, and that's the position of a kobe fan atm.

Just live with the fact kobe's image is determined by the media, and that image is a morbid one placed upon him. An image of egoism, arrogance, quitter, selfish, raper, etc..

Kobe fans can't live with it, because it's unfair. So they constantly praise him to show there are people on his side. there are people who care about his good side, and that people should be able to see it.

Most Kobe Fans Unaminously agree, that he'll not be able to match Jordan's legacy or ability.

I disagree..it seems like a lot of Kobe homers genuinely believe that he is better than Jordan, or will be better than Jordan..I can only imagine if he wins his FIRST MVP or leads his FIRST team to a title..

Why? because it's kobe bryant and he takes more heat.

hahahhaa, line of the year..

the only people that know if Kobe raped that woman is Kobe and the woman..nobody else knows, so it's a matter of opinion..I for one, would never believe that Kobe Bryant would be able to rape a woman..that would never happen..

People just don't find Kobe likeable, probably that comes off as because of jordan's legacy. Remember Iverson demanding a trade, VC demanding a trade, Tmac demanding a trade? Kobe does the same thing, and he takes far more heat than any three of those players combined.

Iverson didn't have one of the best players in the NBA, have A PART in him leaving, AND THEN complain about his team..neither did McGrady..neither did Carter, but VC is hated on all of the time, and has an entire country hating on him..

neither of these players **** on Andrew Bynum, who is the main reason Kobe might have an MVP and a title this year..

When Kobe had his 62 point game or 81 point game, people criticize him for taking too many shots. Are you kidding me? Wilt Chamberlain took 63 shots in his 100 point game, and he takes no heat what so ever from it. But Kobe does?

I've never heard anybody criticize him for that..that's just from my perspective though..

Kobe fans are quick to defend kobe, is because they feel no one appreciates what kobe does, and people pay attention more to what kobe does wrong than right. Kobe is just not likeable to many people for whatever reason. When there more posted hatred for bryant, fuels more bryant fans to post more about their hero.

such bull..

Kobe fans are part of the reason so many people hate Kobe..at least for me it is..

HarlemHeat37, hes talking nba fans and haters in general. not people on realgm. everybody that dont like kobe says that kobe is selfish etc etc.

people think if you dont score 27+ and dont average 8+ assist that you are selfish.

Harlem... Explain to me how he had a part in Shaq leaving.

FACT - Shaq was overweight and out of shape.
FACT - Shaq was on the decline of his career, but demanded max $$$
FACT - Shaq said management was the reason he wanted out, not Kobe
FACT - The Heat franchise is screwed. The Lakers could forsee that happening and opted not to go the "one-and-done" route. Looks like it was a pretty smart decision.
FACT - Lakers FO has stated they didnt want to re-sign Shaq

"Dr. Buss requested a meeting with me during the '04 season long before I opted out of my contract, and he told me he had already decided not to extend Shaq, as he was concerned about Shaq's age, fitness and contract demands. "

These are YOUR facts . LOLLLLLLLL
Which to me and Im sure to others doesnt mean Jack .

I mean for starters Im a Laker fan first and then a Kobe fan .
So lets see where you came up with your Facts

Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe was charged with rape

Ya he rapped a girl that basically got gang banged by the entire city of Colorado .

I mean according to her she got rapped by Kobe and then later that DAY and Night She bangged two other guys ....

Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe settled with the women in the civil case, and paid her a lot of money

Another ignorant post .....
She lost the criminal and then her gold digging A55 was basically trying to get money out of Kobe .....Thats it ....
Since Kobe is a Multi Million dollar investment , he would rather pay the trail park girl off for a million than to go through a few more months of trial which would basically cost him more than its worth to pay her off and get on with his life and make that million back in a few months .

Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe cheated on his wife multiple times right around when his baby was born

Who cares ......... I bet you some where sometime someone you know or knew cheated on their spouse , but WTH does that have to do with a basketball player playing basketball ...........
MJ cheated on his wife many times , so did Shaq and ever pro baller or actor . SO WHAT ?
Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe Bryant told detectives in Eagle, Colo., "he should have done what Shaq does ... that Shaq would pay his women not to say anything" and already had paid up to $1 million "for situations like this."

Thats because Shaq was backstabbing him , he betrayed Kobe as his friend , and Shaq did payoff his girls , like every other proballer that was married .
Horok11 wrote:FACT - Kobe's coach Phil Jackson called him "uncoachable" in his book.

So what , if he was then why did he comeback to LA and has been coaching Kobe all these years , and he admire's Kobes desire to win , he called Kobe one of the best to ever play the game .
He says his work ethics is the best he has ever seen ..... SO what ?
Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe, According to Jackson, in Bryant's exit interview with him he stated that O'Neal's fate with the Lakers would affect his decision to return, saying "I'm tired of being a sidekick."

OMG , I dont want to get into this one since we all know about Shaqs fat lazy , money hungry desire to get payed top dollars for his crapy performance and work ethics .........
Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe and his parents didn't speak for 2 years

So What ........... WTH does that have to do with basketball ?
I mean how old are you ?
Who cares , I didnt talk to my uncle for 10 years , does that make me a bad person .
Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe's family, teammates, nor agent attended his wedding

WOW , you are digging pretty low with all these family garbage ......
Horok11 wrote: FACT - Kobe was filmed by fans saying, "Andrew Bynum? What the f---?" Bryant says in disgust. "Are you kidding me? Andrew Bynum? F---ing ship his ass out. Are you kidding me? Ya and look at what the F.O did , they surrounded him with talent , the same guy he was bashing , stepped his game up and now he is one of the top 5 centers in the league .
And your point is what that Kobe is bad for wanting to win , maybe he should have done things like K.G ..........
Took millions of dollars and never spoke out about his problems with the F.O ......... About his desire to win championships , always being in the last place year after year ............ You think what Kobe did was wrong .
I did at first but after seeing how the F.O and his teammates have stepped up .
I give props to Kobe for what he did .

Grow up man , this is a game of basketball , not family fued or days of our lives ..............
Its basketball .

These aren't MY facts. I didn't make any of this up. It's all there for everyone to see...the internet is a beautiful thing.

These are ACTUAL FACTS about Kobe's life. (look it up, look at his police interrogation transcript, read Phil Jackson's book)

Don't hate me, hate Kobe for providing the facts about himself throughout his life.

Does the truth hurt?

Ummm....he didn't make those facts up.

But I agree, most of them don't have anything to do with basketball, so from a basketball stand point they don't matter.

9-42 and a lower than .200 win percentage by the All-Star break isn't doomed?

Nope. The Heat have a superstar, Dwyane Wade. They have an all-star, Shawn Marion. They have a good PF, Udonis Haslem. And they have a lottery pick where they can add another potential star.

And if the Heat could go back again in time, they still would of done the Shaq trade without any hesitation. Unlike the Lakers, they didn't have 14 championships, so yes that 1 championship was/is huge for the franchise only 20 years into it's existence.

I think we can say that for all player fans - lol. Kobe is just an extreme case because of how his career went from up - to - down - and back up again.

Kobe is a bad person, the kind of individual i avoid in my personal and business life because they are the kind of people you cant trust and are always looking for their own interests first and will stab anyone they know in the back because in their minds, they are important enough to do that.

So yes, i am a kobe hater, card carrying member as i've admitted many times.

That being said, who cares?!?! I certainly appreciate his amazing skills as a player, although i dont always believe he uses his powers for good and he is nowhere near MJ.

Kobe fans really shouldnt care that they cant convince me he is not a bad person, but for some reason they do and thats what i dont understand about kobe fans.

People hate Amare and I just smile and nod at them because I know most NBA fans would be more than happy to take him on their team, just as most NBA fans would be quick to turn in their kobehater cards the day he is traded to their favorite team. at the end of the day kobe fans, we hate him - just deal with it.
