I don't know what the record is, but I'm pretty sure it is a lot higher than 40 and held by Bill Russell or Chamberlain. But 40 seems like a good feat for anyone in the NBA these days. I will have to go with Dwight Howard. I think there will be a playoff game sometime in his future where it will be a sloppy offensive game which will allow for a lot of rebounds to be grabbed.

It has to be a strong guy with either good speed or good length but also with weak rebounding teammates.
Didn't Biedrins have like 20+ against the Knicks?
Lawl at anyone getting 40, especially Bynum and Thomas.

Don't think it will happen.... but it could if both teams played fast paced, took alot of shots- missed a lot of shots, and the game went into double overtime plus...
If I had to guess, It would be Dwight in a GS/PHO game, or perhaps even Amare in a freak long 5OT game with Phoenix. Chandler also...
It would really have to be the "perfect storm" for it to happen though... so I'd say, no one in the NBA right now will do it in their career.

The last 30+ rebound game was in 1996 so no it is nothing like 50 pts in a game which happens every season multiple times.
