Alston does blow. It's just that he's been blowing alot less lately hence the need for Head now.

16 points and 11 assists. THAT is why he is starting, OP.

He shot a 1/8 in the 2nd half.

That's what you got when a scrub thought himself a star.

And he guided the Rockets to their tenth straight win, dishing plenty of assists along the way. Just go take a look at his +/- numbers and see for yourself how important he is to that team.

There are a lot of worse players in this league than Rafer Alston.

Skip been playing better. But when it comes down to it he is the reason why we lose or win. Teams leave him open...if he makes shots we win. If he doesn't we either struggle to win or don't win at all.

Yup all good things
but how can you explain his 1/8 shooting with only 3 assists in the most important 2nf half of the game?

Do you honestly believe a PG with a 1/8 "clutch" performance vs. the league's worst team can give a win in the west?
:banghead:

Rafer is a scrub, a bottom tier PG in the league. He does not even have many PG skills to say

Rafer Alson is actually pretty decent as a pure point guard. He's a very good ball handler and an above-average passer. His defense is also decent against most PGs (except against bigger guards who can overpower him). Skip's problem is that he is an inconsistent shooter. Last couple of years his weaknesses were exposed and magnified under Jeff Van Gundy' stagnant offense. This year Alston's playing better because Coach Adelman has given him more freedom in running the offense. His shooting has also improved this year. Rafer Alston is in fact very important to Houston's success right now. They would miss him almost as much as they would miss Tracy Mcgrady.
